  1. Happy 47th Birthday Shan28!

  2. 2 years has passed since you registered at LapBandTalk! Happy 2nd Anniversary Shan28!

  3. I was told by my dietician that celery grows as you chew it so to be very careful with it. Good luck!
  4. I was banded Nov. 5 and have really been worried that I was not losing weight. Well, my preop was on Oct. 28 and I went back to the dr Nov. 18 and I have lost 17 pounds since preop and 2.75 inches off my waist!!! I was so happy! I get a fill in 3 weeks so hopefully with nothing in the band I will still lose more!!

    Ouch! Pain above IV site...

Try putting some ice on it. It could be from the medications they gave you especially if they gave you Phenergan or anything for pain as these are very irritating to the veins. If the swelling doesn't go down in a couple of days, contact your surgeon, you could have some phlebitis going on.
  6. The stomach sits to the left of the abdomen. That is pain from the band and gas and possibly food going through it. Also, I have been told that there can be irritation to the nerves in the area. Hopefully it gets better but some people say they have had to learn to live with the pain. The gallbladder is on the right and so is the appendix so I would not think that either would be causing that pain. Are you taking an acid reducer? That might help and also the gas x strips. Good luck!
  7. I was banded Nov. 5 and I am not losing any weight. Is this normal? I feel like I am losing inches but the scales are not moving. It is kind of depressing. Also, I am tolerating foods great as if no restriction at all. I am so afraid of messing up or failing. I have been eating more "solid" foods than I should but I am chewing really well and they are going down fine. I have had no pain at all. I just want to succeed for once in my life on this weight loss journey!!

    Aaack! Help! I'm freaking out!!!

5 Motrin at one time is way too many! You will end up with an ulcer. You need to ask your doctor what you can take safely for your pain. You are probably having some serious acid reflux. You might want to take an antacid. Good luck!
  9. I am an RN and work 12 hour nights so my doctor wants me to take off 2 weeks and I can only go back then if I promise not to lift, pull or tug on patients. The hospital I work at is where I had surgery so several of my co-workers have been banded and have already told me if I come back and do too much they will kick my butt! I am really lucky to have good support at work.
  10. I just got banded on Nov. 5th. I am doing good but I am more hungry than I thought I would be. I am still on a full liquid diet and I will advance to pureed diet on Thursday! Good luck to you all!

    Do you drink soda?

My doc told me the same thing. I just got banded Nov. 5 and not drinking Diet Mt. Dew has been really hard. I drink alot of Crystal Lite and sugar free Kool-Aid but it is not the same!
