2wk post-op and cleared to eat solids...
Nonoma posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was very surprised when my dr. gave me the all clear to eat solids but so happy. I was doing much better and feeling fuller on the mushies but it is nice eating "normal" food. I have noticed that I have more gas and discomfort again...like what I first had surgery. I asked him to give me a fill but he, of course, said he wanted to wait a couple more weeks. I feel like I'm eating more than I should but still not as much as before. It's so nice to be able to eat 1 slice of pizza and be full!!!!! 2 wks can't come soon enough, though. -

Yeah....I'm waiting to pick up a couple now that I'm eating solids. I haven't lost a pound in like 12 days! -
I fear the same thing! Maybe it feel so large once the swelling goes down.

Favorite Mushie Food Item/Recipe
Nonoma replied to USCTrojans's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Wow....4wks??? I think I'd lose my mind. I guess every doctor is different because I was allowed to move on to mushies 1-2wks post op. I couldn't wait for my 1wk mark....I feel so satisfied not that I can eat something that actually fills me up! I put chicken and broth in a food processor and had mashed sweet potatoes with it.....was sooooo good! -
Had surgery 11/13, is it always going to be 2oz per meal?
Nonoma replied to jessicakolman's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was banded 11/6 and I seriously think I would starve if I was only allowed 2oz. I never got the full feeling....or maybe I never recognized it at first. I'm starting to sense the feeling of fullness but it's difficult. I was sooooo hungry at first....being able to eat mushies has helped soooooo much. I was just advised to eat until I get the feeling of fullness. Honestly, I can eat/drink about 1.5 to 2 cups of food and liquid in one sitting. I cannot wait to get a fill. The good news is I lost 10lbs in the first 5 days but nothing since then. -
It slowly goes away....I'm 9 days post-op and I still get pain but it's better. Try drinking something warm.

Nonoma posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Thats only 50lbs and I need/want to lose more than that! My pre-op bmi was 40. Has oneone else been told that they should only lose 50% of their excess? -
Good luck! Take advantage of that pain pump after surgery....good stuff!:tongue_smilie:

Quick Question for pureed stage...
Nonoma replied to juliansmom2003's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
They reccomend puting PB in shakes during the liquid stage....dont' see how it's bad. It's full of protein and good for ya! I would just use an organic (tends to have less sugar). -
What did you eat week after surgery.
Nonoma replied to domino4now's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I had my surgery 3 days ago and my doc put me on 2wks of liquid post-op, clear liquids a day before and after surgery, and now I will be on liquids for 1-2wks, then pureed for 1-2 wks, then soft for 1-2 wks. I'm so hoping to go to pureed after a week because I'm starving....I never feel satisfied and FULL of gas! -
Hi all....I just had my surgery 3 days ago and so far, so good except for the gas...omg...the noises that come from my stomach! So, I've been told that I should eat until I feel full... Well, I don't get that feeling at all....I can eat quite a bit and still not feel full but I stop myself. Will this ever happen and how long before the gas goes away??? So far....6lbs lost...wooohoo!!:smile2:

Breastfeeding with the band
Nonoma replied to puddin's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Congrats on the new baby! My doctors just about flipped when I told them I was breastfeeding...and my daughter is 20 months. I would hold off getting a fill for a few weeks so that you can build up a decent supply, otherwise...you'll probably have difficulty producing enough for baby and once you begin using formula...it's hard not to continue. Your body requires that you eat a little more to produce milk and with a fill...I'm not sure that you can get your calories in. Good luck and let us know how it goes. By the way, I had surgery 3 days ago and that is when I began weaning my daughter...so far, so good!:smile2:
