I am a 26 year old happily married woman living in Rockledge Florida. I have recently made the VERY difficult decision of having Lap-Band surgery. I didn't ever want to resort to having surgery for weight loss because I just KNEW I would feel like a failure, but after many years of trying everything from diets and excersize to prescription weight loss drugs, I have come to the realization that NOTHING made me feel like a failure MORE than everything ELSE I have already tried. I finally realized that Lap-Band surgery doesn't make me a failure, it makes me a fighter! I am now in a VERY happy and excited state about making this decision and I can't wait to finally be successful. I know the realities of the surgery and how some people are not as successful as others, and I don't expect to lose weight as fast as gastric bypass, but I am fine with all of that, I just want to be able to LIVE MY LIFE again instead of watching other people live theirs. I am tired of being a spectator, I want to be a participant. I want to have children but I refuse to get pregnant at my present weight, I want to dance again, I want to ride rollercoasters instead of pretending I don't like them because I know I am just TOO FAT to get on one. I just want to live.... I love life so much and I want to finally be able to run without feeling like I am going to die or something..... Anyways, my surgery date is Scheduled for November 30th 2009 so... wish me luck!! :)
