I had my period when I was banded on 2/3 and tom stayed on in full force for 31 days. I made a gyno appointment but with the snowstorm in northeast last week, they couldn't get me into the office until today. Period has stopped but he still did an exam - the this is the tmi part - it hurt very badly when he pushed on my stomach to feel my uterus. I've never had any pain with a pelvic exam before so this caught me by surprise. I suspect he pushed down on my port, but I'm wondering if anyone else has had this experience post band?

Hey February 2010 Bandsters!
chinchilla mom replied to Northern Mist's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Hi, Wow - so many of you have lost so much weight - awesome! I'm just a pound or two shy of they 40 pound down mark (from my highest, not doc's number) and that's 28 lbs down from doc's number. I am moving and working it and am feeling better than I have in a long time, so I'm a happy bandster. -
1st fill tomorrow any advice???
chinchilla mom replied to Amber1984's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I had my first fill yesterday and was surprised at how quick and painless it was - and I'm a wimp. I go back next Monday for fill #2 which they hope will bring greater restriction and more lost pounds. -
Weight watchers and the Band I cannot believe this!!!!

I have posted on the WW boards a few times in the past and always found them nasty and snarky. I found no support there and as anyone who ever posted or even read the 'wedding party board' knows the folks who frequent can be downright cruel. -
New Band= Constipation
chinchilla mom replied to bandaide's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I helped things along on day 5 with some milk of magnesia - which worked like a charm but was so foul tasting - so gross. Water and walking was also a big help for me. Good luck. -
What was ESSENTIAL Post-op - Comfort and Food wise
chinchilla mom replied to pmommy's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Lots of great ideas so far! I'll add nice cozy slippers you can step into, water bottle to keep near your bed, mouthwash was great for the dry mouth post-op and soft comfy clothes. -
You look amazing! Congratulations!

first fill!!!!!!!!!!!! omega 3?????????
chinchilla mom replied to bgn's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I chew them until they are liquid and then swallow. Takes a couple of minutes, but worth it. -
I have been on 4 cruises and have to say the gym & spa on each ship was incredible - totally state of the art! In my experience there are always different classes to try, this is where I first tried yoga, so in taking a class you might not try at home you have some fun and get in a workout. I agree with those who said watch out for the liquor, but will also say stay away from buffets if you can. Now that I'm post band I would go with a sit down meal to avoid eating with my eyes. Have a great time and remember you're sister is on her journey and you are on yours. If she joins you at the gym great - if not go anyway if you wish to, have the vacation you want to have and enjoy every minute!

Congrats to both of you on your bands! Harliquinn, perhaps when the swelling around your stomach goes down you'll feel a bit less restricted? My first few days the swelling kept me feeling very tight, but it wore off after a while. -

All I want to say is screw you TOM! lol
chinchilla mom replied to corinne211's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I called this morning and got an appointment for March 4th, which made me think, ok so no big deal here. The Nurse called me back within the hour and while she was clear there was no reason to panic, she was also clear they need to stop TOM. So, if the expected blizzard bypasses us they will get me into the office tomorrow ! Of course, TOM has slowed up on her own... it's like she heard me call the Dr. -

Thanks for sharing this information, I was planning to call the doctor's tomorrow, now I won't let calling slip. Take care! -

chinchilla mom replied to corinne211's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Do you mean you've had TOM for 3 weeks? Is that common post op? I don't mean to pry, I'm asking because TOM is on day 20 at my house and shows no sign of leaving / slowing up. I'm getting pretty ticked and I was going to call Doc tomorrow to see if they can give me something to stop this. -
Protein Supplement Suggestions
chinchilla mom replied to 80s_chick's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I :wub::w00t: Syntax Nectars too! The fuzzy navel (peach / orange) is great, so is the chocolate truffle, fruit punch and vanilla torte. I have one every morning it goes a long way to getting the protein in. Amazon sells most of their flavors too. -
3 days postop- sleep question
chinchilla mom replied to chubnomore's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm a stomach sleeper too, and found it tough to fall asleep the first few nights. My saving grace was that the pain killers made me sleepy so I timed my doses those first 2-3 days to just before bedtime. -
15 Days out, can I still have gas pains?
chinchilla mom posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hi, I had surgery 15 days ago and am having a weird crampy feeling on my left side / back, under my ribs and sort of pressure up under my left breast. I felt a lot gas up under my left breast after surgery - could these pains still be gas? I thought this would be over by two weeks post-op? thanks Jennfier -
Ughhhh I SUCK!!!

Crazy Question but im Super Curious..
chinchilla mom replied to MissCherita's topic in The Gals' Room
I had mine on the big day and they just gave me a jumbo pad and these mesh panties that were very comfy. The nurse was very sweet and told me it's frequent for ladies she thinks it's brought on by the rapid weight loss of the pre-op diets and the stress / nerves. I was super embarrassed but they were certainly used to it. -
For Women only: 1st fill, period, weight gain
chinchilla mom replied to realtruelady's topic in The Gals' Room
I haven't had a fill yet, but definately have had the strangest cycle of my life. I started spotting a couple of days before surgery and then the day after surgery the floodgates opened ( I should say I'm very irregular and it had been 98 days since my last period). Cramps were so bad I was grateful for the liquid pain meds. It's finally tapered off to spotting nearly 12 days later - so annoying. -

Hey WickedRedHead - I hate that "What am I forgetting feeling!" If you have a robe and slippers I'd bring those, too. The robe helped me feel more covered in the hospital and the slippers were great - I was a same day case and left wearing them. So, if not slippers you might want some shoes you don't need to tie or bend to get into. Good luck! -

Hi Everyone! Sorry to hear so many have had their dates pushed back / changed. I am still on mushies and it's getting boring. Also, the scale is no longer in free fall mode. I've been holding at 210.5 for 3 days- in reality I know it's not healthy or safe to keep dropping a pound+ every day, but it was fun while it lasted. I got a walk in this afternoon, my slow but sure return to exercise, I still have some gas pain under my shoulders... but it's eased up a lot, so I'm grateful
