Hey Mike...just a quick drugged up note here...lol! Just thought I'd let you know surgery went well! I went in at 6:45, surgery at 8:45 and I was heading home at 4pm. Got my meds and walked a little. Walking really helps the shoulder pain. A little bit of pain but ice on the port site and walking and heat on the shoulder (and the hydrocodone) seem to be helping a lot A little nausea when I first got out of surgery and they gave me some meds and I slept on and off for about 2 hrs....no more since then Been sipping my clear liquids and had some broth! Just thought I'd say hi...how's your pre-surgery stuff goin?

The house is clean...I have plenty of soup, yogart, sf jello, sf popcicles, light juice and I should have my protien powder tomorrow. I ordered 5 containers from unjury. I had ordered there sample packets to try and they are all pretty good so I got all 5 flavors...so I hopefully wont get bored...lol!~ I think I'm ready...not really nervous yet other than about the diet afterwards...lol. I think I'll be more nervous when I get to the hospital on Tuesday. Well say a little prayer for me on Tuesday and I'll check in when I can!

We live in Nampa...about 15 minutes from Boise! My surgeon is in Boise and I'll be having surgery at St. Alphonsus Hospital. So not really traveling unless you call 15-20 min travel...lol! I have a great support system...all my family and friends have been behind me 100%! My mom and dad are thrilled and think it will be great for me! I have a 9 year old daughter...she's a little aprehensive about the surgery but I know she sees why I'm doing this and when I get smaller it will be great to be able to do so much more with her! My fiance was a little apprehensive at first but not he's totally supportive. He will be taking me to the hospital and staying w/ me so that will be good. It does help to have people who are supportive. I've told pretty much anyone who ask...I figure I have nothing to be ashamed of and I'm not going to hide! Everyone at my work has been pretty supportive and my boss is wonderful! Only one full day left!

Oh wow where in Oregon? I live in Idaho...haha we are neighbors! My surgeon is great...he sat down with me and my fiance and answered all our questions before my surgery. His staff is wonderful...made me feel comfortable even though I was super nervous (I was afraid they where going to say sorry no surgery for you...lol)! Ya I have my c-pap now...not too thrilled with it but I have it! lol! Acually when I have it on it dose seem to help me sleep but I wake up and take it off a lot....guess it just takes awhile to get used to. I'm hoping I can get rid of it soon after surgery Went to the store today and got lots of soup, yogart, juice, ff jello and ff popscicles..think I'm all set in the food department! Well back to cleaning...we are getting the house all clean before I head for surgery...lol! I don't want to come home to a dirty house!

hi Mike...I just typed you out a long reply and my computer went crazy and lost it...urgh! Anyway yep Surgery onthe 26th it's pretty exciting and a little scary too! My surgeron dosen't make you do a total liquid diet...very low carbs. I have a protien shake for breakfast and lunch and a cheese stick or carrots w/ hummas for a snack then for dinner I have a lean meat, veggies and a salad w/ ff dressing. I've lost 19 pounds so far.
Yes I'm self pay....my insurance dosen't cover this surgery. They paid for some of the preop testing....I had to have 2 sleep studies (I found out I had sleep apnea) and a bunch of lab work. I paid for the phych eval and nutrition eval with my FSA.
I will be on a 3 week liquid diet after my surgery...that is scaring me more than the acually sugery! I hope I can do it!
Good luck w/ you visit on the 9th and write back if you want...I'll tell you what I know anyway...lol! Take care, Christy
