Right now I'm just starting the process. I went to the orientation and am looking into all the pre-op testing. I'm going to go weigh in on Monday and start my pre-surgical diet. I've been doing Jenny Craig 4 months prior to this and I've lost almost 20 pounds...the Dr. my count that but not sure yet. I'm really excited about this and am hoping to have surgery in February or March of next year. I thought about this for over 9 years and have been activity trying to loose weight since 2006. I've lost and gained 20 pounds about 3 times! I've lost a total of 45 pounds w/ Weight Watchers and Jenny Craig...but can't seem to get past that! I'm really determined to loose this weight and feel this is the chance I've been waiting for! I know I'll still have to work hard and I'm prepared to be dedicated to this mission to loose weight, be healthy and live a long life! I have a beautiful 9 year old daughter and I want to be around for her...I want to be able to take her to Disney Land and ride the rides and be able to walk without getting pains in my knee or hip! She deserves to have a mom who can do ANYTHING with her!!!! July 2010: Well I had my surgery on Jan 26th, 2010 and everything went off without a hitch :) I'm doing well so far. Including the preop weight loss (21 pounds) I have lost 60 pounds and still loosing pretty streadily! I have a 14 cc band, my first fill was 3.5 cc, and my Dr. said I had 3cc in my band after surgery. SO I had a total of 6.5 cc in a 14cc band and I was really tight! I had a lot of problems with solid foods so I acually ended up going back in and getting 1cc out, after 4 week of 5.5cc I really didn't have much restriction so he added .5cc to make it 6cc. My doc said as you loose weight you will probably need more fill since your stomache is also shrinking along with everything else! After about 2 month I didn't feel a bunch of restriction so I went back in last week and got another 3/4 cc fill....now I'm so tight I can't keep some liquids down! So I have an appt tomorrow to get a slight unfill. I think if he takes out .25-.5 cc I will probably be at my sweet spot! I'm getting married in August! It's an exciting time and I am loving being this small....I still have a long ways to go but I haven't been this size in over 10 years!!!!!!! Since the birth of my daughter so it's a great feeling! I will hopefully keep pluggin a long here. At this time I really haven't stuck to aformal "diet" as much as just trying to watch what I eat and stay away from the junk foods! I'm doing pretty good with that. I'm not 100% perfect and never have been but I think I'm doing pretty good! I'll just keep pluggin a long! Well wanted to put an update on here....so thanks for reading and good luck with your journey!
