  1. Hey Cat! Yep, they're even doing a single incision LB now-some through the actual belly button so you really wouldn't have any scarring. I think this is a great thing (especially for the single crowd...I know I'd be self-concious about my 5 scars). I think your doc is just on the cusp of the new way this will be done, and trust me, if they need to make more incisions to get it done right, they will (one in our April group came out of surgery with 9 incisions). I'd just be asking about his success and complications rates/statistics and if they're acceptable to you then how he get's it done isn't as important (I know my doc is one of the pioneers for a remotely run Laproscopic robot -doesn't use it for LB though). I'd also ask your doc about port placement (I had a choice)...think about where the waistband from most of your pants hit, etc. and see if where he wants it works for you.
