Well I am having my surgery today. I lived with my grandparents as a child as my mom was in college. My mom had 10 siblings and I was loved. I think I ate with each one of them plus I got treats constantly. I was such a chubby baby judging by my 6 months pictures. This struggle continued for me all my life. I worked so hard to keep my weight around 160 for my 5'3" frame. I succeedded many times especially with jenny craig. I can say with confidence that I tried every program and every diet out there. My body just loved being at 200 pounds. So, I would go through thinner periods and I would eventually revert back to the 200 mark. I was always hungry and I would joke around and say that I work so hard on being this big. If I didn't watch all the time, I could have been easily 300+ pounds. Also, I am a physician and I know the benefits of an ideal body weight and BMI. I felt that this was an investment in my health and my future. I was always hungry and preoccupied with food and felt that the lapband would alleviate that food preoccupation with the full feeling I would achieve with such small amounts of food. I am looking forward to seeing the real me and stop the struggle that I had with food all my life. I know that I will have to work with my band to achieve super goals and I will update my progress consistently.
