What can I take for allergies??
Hoping4LB replied to stamich0830's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I take Zyrtec every day (BAD allergies) and have had no problem swallowing the pills. They're pretty small. -
March Bandster Updates
Hoping4LB replied to Savanna's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I had my band on 3/22 (Monday) and I feel really good. I'm pretty impressed with how I've recovered. I was a little worried because I required oxygen until the following morning, but apparently the anesthesia and Dilaudid pump, paired with my asthma, make this normal. Went home on Day 2. On "full" liquids and just dreaming of the day I can chew. I made my cream of wheat a little thick yesterday and definitely felt the restriction. Working on moving around -- went to Target today. I haven't needed any pain meds since the night I got home (they made me nauseous anyway). All in all, I'm very happy. No regrets -- yet! -
What do you eat for lunch?
Hoping4LB replied to LuvinLife's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was thinking the same thing about the Mexican chicken and beans. I'm on full liquids right now and somewhat obsessed with the thought of eating solid food, but it sounds yummy regardless!! -
I'm on March 22nd too! I'm pretty nervous and excited! Good luck to you all! :frown: Just realized I need to update my signature!

Dr put me on meds for hypothyroidism
Hoping4LB replied to dragonflylover's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
The range IS usually up to 5, but if a doctor puts someone on thyroid medication, they shoot for a range of 0.5-1.5 to be considered therapeutic on meds, so many doctors will treat you if you're above 1.5, even though it's technically "normal." If you don't want to take it, you should talk to your doctor, but it might help a little! Who knows! :smile2: -
Hi everyone! I've lurked here for a while and thought I'd post my "story." About 2 years ago, I went through all of the pre-approval stuff for the LapBand and I didn't do it. I think it was a combination of being scared and the success I had on my pre-approval diet. I thought "Surely I can do this without surgery!" I lost about 25 pounds and regained about 35. This puts me at my highest weight EVER! :scared2: I keep thinking, what if I'd done it then? I might be at goal weight now!!! So, here I am, pursuing the LapBand again. The difference is, this time I'm doing it! I've done my seminar and my initial consultation with the Fairview Southdale Weight Loss Clinic. I need to do a 6 month supervised diet before I can be approved. Initially this annoyed me, but now I'm just using it as a time to get my thoughts in order and to practice eating the way I will have to eat after surgery. I've gotten a lot of great information from this site, so thank you to everyone for that!

Which clinic are you going through? Could you try another one??

Six month medically supervised diet
Hoping4LB replied to bandstarr430's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I have to do it too. I was initially annoyed about it, but I'm doing the supervised part with my surgery clinic, so it's very much focused on getting ready for life after surgery. I've read from other people on this site that the time flies by, so I'm really hoping for that!
