How are we doing low BMI'ers? -
So glad you guys are here! You keep me motivated when I feel like having a cheesecake. Feeling emotional and I am sure everyone understands how eating and emotions correlate. I am glad I am banded! I am having some physical problems so getting a fill isn't even an option right now. You guys will probably be on fill two or three before I have one. Keep it going Delights!!

@longbaygirl I didn't have to take heparin shots, why do you have to? I too enjoy the feeling of being in control. For me it has taken a lot of thought into what I am eating and drinking. So get ready for that stage, it will be here quicker than you think. -

@so excited....turkey meatloaf? How did you get it to stick? My turkey meatloaf is tasty but it nevers seems to stick! Congrats on your weight loss! I am glad to see those numbers for you. -
Hi Diva welcome, how's your progress?
-
Hi Yolly! Come back and let us know how your first fill went. I am excited for you!

I'll try Aleve on a "full" stomach. Hope I am not immune to those yet. Celebrex...sounds like heaven right now.
-
Taking the excedrin didn't help at all. I think I am immune to meds now?!?! Just have to ride this through. lady...how is your journey coming along?
-
Alberto Almanza. I hope your experience is the best. Good luck on your journey!

Hi Kellu - when is your first fill?

December Delights...help! I am experiencing PMS, I am ready to bite a burger or something. Not to mention back pain. Tylenol yesterday only helped with the headache, I need to take my Excedrin for back pain which is a NSAID along with caffeine. Wondering if anyone has taken Aleve or any other NSAID. Hungry with PMS....bad combination. :smile2:

Has anyone else felt the need to sip while they eat? I understand that if you drink while you eat then you push the food through the stoma faster and that you become hungry like you didnt have anything. So I am sure that my challenges are all connected. Any one else going through this same thing? OMG stl....I didn't wait long enough after having mushies to drink. I had the worst chest pain ever since being banded. Lesson learned!

@soexcited. Let us know how your fill went today! -
Hi Mel! I find it intriguing that you are eating food right now. I am 19 days post op and I have been eating too. The band works, restricts my portions and I don't have any problems swallowing which was my fear when I got the OK to eat soft foods.
-
So exciting that everyone is doing well pre and post op!
-
Irishbookworm, I am one week post op as well. I was so glad to be able to eat mushies this week, I opted for mashed potatoes. Portion control is huge, I felt like because there was still food in the bowl I should eat but my stomach was actually tight. Too afraid of barfing, so I stopped. I am now obsessed that the swelling has gone down and I can "feel" the port. My first fill is also in 5 weeks.

Glad to have stumbled upon this thread! My BMI was 34.6 with no comorbidities, weight 225-227 at 5 feet 8. Not a candidate for my insurance to cover the expense, but certainly at my own expense. The prices were just too high. I opted to have my band done in Mexico, date 12/09/09. I was scared, nervous and excited. Overall, no regrets. I consider this an investment in my future. After my last weight loss attempt, I lost about 10 pounds only to gain them back and seemed to be stuck at 225 for what seemed like forever. Yes, larger people are like oh you look ok at your current weight. Well I don't feel OK!!! Thin people are evil and can never understand how it feels to be fat, so I just let them be evil because they don't understand this particular struggle. Let's stay on the path and make our decision for a life change successful! Thanks fellow low BMI'ers!! Hugs
