I have seen so many people regain weight after having a gastric bypass that I think if you are going to cheat, you are going to cheat no matter what. Both procedures are to be used as tools and you can defeat the purpose with either one.
Hi,
I'm Rhonda and I'm 50. I had lapband surgery on 4/6/10 and have lost 80 pounds so far. I need to lose about 46 more pounds to reach my goal weight. I have never never regretted my lapband surgery and just wish that I would have done it 10 years ago!
I haven't been on LapBandTalk for a long time. I have just been so busy but just wanted to say that I am over half way to my goal. I've now lost 69 pounds and have 57 more to go! Whoo Hoo!
These have been the hardest for me to get used to:
1. Not drinking while eating!
2. Chew, chew, chew!
3. Slowing down and not eating in a hurry!
4. No carbonated drinks!
This is exactly what I needed to hear today! I am 3 1/2 weeks post band surgery and have been very discouraged the last couple of days. I basically feel the same as I felt before surgery. I am trying to keep in mind that it will get better after a few fills. Will power is just so hard!!!
Bambam,
Your smoothie sounds great! I can't wait to try it. I have just started soft foods so I have tried scrambled eggs, grits, oatmeal, and protein shakes this week.
