I can't wait to be able to walk into a public restroom stall and actually fit comfortably. Not to mention the wiping thing, if you know what I mean. Impossible, right?

Public restroom stalls!
Family First replied to Family First's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am beginning to think a very thin man designed the stalls. Who the hell would put the toilet paper holder at knee level. It is hard to fit in there and then they put the toilet paper holder where your knees would go. -
Fears of Scarring
Family First replied to FSutherland's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I had my gallbladder taken out 8 years ago and the scars are bad. I am hoping they can go in through those scars and maybe fix them. If not no big deal. My stomach is so full of stretch marks that it looks like a road map of Texas. I hear vitamin E oil works wonders. -
Anybody have to wear compression stockings?
Family First replied to amey_idaho's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
WEAR THE STOCKINGS:smile2: 2 years ago I broke my foot and the doctor told me to take it easy for a few days. So I laid in bed for a couple of days nursing my boo boo. The next thing I knew I was in the hospital and a doctor was telling me I could die. I ended up having a DVT and pulmonary embolism. By laying around like I did I developed a blood clot in my calf. When I got up and started moving around the blood clot started breaking apart and ended up in my lungs. So I am sure I will be wearing my compression stockings whether my surgeon tells me to or not. It would suck to go through all this and end up dying with and embolism a few days later. Just my opinion. -
Hi Dawn - You look GREAT!!! You are an inspiration to me. Keep up the good work. I agree with your last sentence. Take care.

I am SO impatient!!!
Family First replied to Family First's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Okay..So maybe I was being a little cranky when typing the first thread. I apologize. Things are back on track now. My paperwork has been submitted to Aetna and now I am waiting for my approval. EVERYONE, keep your chin up and deal with delays better than I did. I didn't do me or anyone else any good to get so upset. I did end up going to DQ for a blizzard and I felt so incredibly sad that I let myself get in such a funk. It's all good now. Back on track. I refuse to let these types of things ruin my happiness and success. -
I am a patient of Dr. Cywes in Jacksonville. Anyone out there that has been banded by this doctor? Does he put you on a pre-op diet? If so, what kind. I was on a 3month physician supervised weight loss and lost a total of 16 pounds. I am now 2 days away from what they call the 2nd Dr. appt. From my understanding, this is the part where the doctor talks to a group about the surgery. Then someone comes in a talks about diet and prep for surgery and the diet after surgery. Then the final person comes in and talks about finances/insurance. I have Aetna PPO and I am really hoping I get approved very quickly. I haven't been able to locate very many people on this site that have Aetna. Any guidance that anyone can give me would be greatly appreciates.

How long did it take Aetna to approve your surgery? With my doctor the fills and appointments are included in the surgery fee.
