And here I thought that he was a hallucination, just a product of some cheapo drugs.......! I love Ron Burgandy. LOL

Green doesn't believe in Pattygreen but she does believe in the Duggars.
-
Sadly, you have got a point!

I wanted to educate myself on what having a lot of children would be like so I watched a double helping, a full hour, of the Duggars. At the time that this was filmed, the Ds had 18 kids and that is only 4 more than octopussy will have in her charge once the infants are home with her. I was very impressed with this show. The Ds seemed to be a highly organized family and they have the older kids pitching in and doing some of the work with the youngest ones. Both the older kids and the younger ones seemed to have thrived under this system; the older ones take pride in their work to uphold the family and to ensure that it is running smoothly and there are emotional bonds of affection which are cemented into place. The father is also around 24/7 and they have, over the years, worked out a system. They also have money which they need: for transportation costs, they need a bus/3 taxis, and I imagine that they work well with hand-me-downs in clothing. All of the Ds seem to be bright and healthy. Sadly, of course, none of this will be available for octopussy for the majority of her kiddies are the same age and, I have heard, some suffer from health issues. And there is no father in the picture to give a helping hand. Studies have proven that the children of one-parent families do tend to run into greater difficulties - with the law, with finishing their education, with emotional development - than do their peers who come from two parent families. In other words, the deck is already stacked against those octuplets and octopussy's other children.

What is the difference between Pattygreen and God????

All I can hear is the title to Hemminway's great novel: For Whom The Bell Trells. But you are right; we do need get to a life. Trouble is, typing on the internet is so much more slimming than eating....

Maybe she believes in God, she just doesn't believe in Pattygreen is all.... -
I just looked up trell in my on-line dictionary. It seems that it is an alternative spelling for troll.

Why, thanks for the compliments, grrlfiend. I have just come back from the physio where I had a work out on my back, took some fun painkillerz, too. Yippee!!!

Oh, wow, then I am doubly-damned for I have had plastic surgery and an abortion and have not shed a tear for either. But I did enjoy the drugs....! -
LOL Nope, my family's name is Green but my father was Jewish; he was a Holocaust survivor who found it difficult to believe in God after seeing what was allowed in His universe. My mother was Scottish (and French) and I was baptised Episcopalian and sent away to a boarding school run by Episcopalians. Religious belief didn't really take once I heard that there would be no animals in Heaven. I did go through a briefly devout period and drove my parents nuts worrying about my father's eternal fate after his death. They lied and told me that he was baptised just to shut me up and this worked just because my understanding of theology was kinda shaky at the time. I was only 11. When folks like me watch the Benny Hinns of this world, corrupt scamsters who are just into it for the money of this world, we cannot be but alienated from the belief. It really does seem like studying this miracle book - The Bible - and praying has not done those folks a helluva lot of good, does it? You do raise a good and very amusing point in your post: what if God does exist and He is gonna punish each and everyone of you who has been personally responsible for driving someone away from His religion? Pattygreen had better change her name to brown as in toast.

Pattygreen's comments concerning doctors reminds me of an old joke: what are the differences between God and a doctor? God doesn't think that he is a doctor. But upon reading her posted responses to just about everything I am inclined to rephrase that old joke as follows: what is the difference between Pattygreen and God? God doesn't think that he is Pattygreen, eh. Pattygreen, you simply won't or are unable to get it - why your behaviour brings disgust and frustration and despair amongst your co-religionists, and an utter lack of desire to join up with your religion from atheists such as myself. Shame on you, grrl!

Wow, talk about a one-way street! She and I could have combined our talents. I loved sex! I just didn't like the result!

I would suggest prostitution as a good career path; with those lips she could suck chrome off a trailor hitch (as my husband would say) and, ethically speaking, she has already been dabbling in those waters, hasn't she?

These would be the pro-choice folks who believe that one does not deliberately start out to have a litter of babies - and by opting to have a litter you are deliberately opting to elevate the chances of having the either/or the physical or mental health of these infants compromised! - without the means or ability to adequately raise them. Off course we think that this idiot should be hung! How can we not??? These are the actions of someone who thinks that babies are like toys or kittens. This case is very shocking, very repellent to us. As for your own niece, I note that you are unable to keep your nose out of that case. "Judge not, lest ye......" didn't your God say this to you, Pattygreen? Maybe your niece is an atheist, (and truly doesn't care about the fate of foetus) exhausted and repelled by the perfumed odor of your very public piety. -

I am pro-choice and yet I am one of those who feels uneasy around late late choice abortions. The reason for this? Well, temperamentally speaking, I am a pretty organized woman and I believe that folks should be able to get their act together before then. There is not such thing as being a little bit pregnant, you know. I do know of a pregnant woman who was led on by her doctor who kept promising her an abortion but didn't come across with the goods. Fortunately for her, however, she figured it out that she was going to get one from that doctor before a late term abortion was required but you take a young and dim and stressed out woman who isn't able to think right due to panic and you have a real mess on your hands. -
Yep, Jack, where are YOU?
-
I figure they are wondering whether some of us knows of some savvy bit of financial by "hook and by crook" that will work for them, too. But, no, only all fashioned money and good credit will do, eh. *wink*

It is too sad that that poor girl was unable to get herself an abortion and avoid all this circus. I believe, now more than ever, that abortions should be legal and easy to obtain. This poor girl was left all alone holding the bag for a one-night stand of having fun.... Reproduction certainly ain't fair to the woman. -
It is fascinating but I have been on any number of websites and the reactions of folks to octopussy's breeding stunt have been overwhelmingly negative. I think that she must be the most vilified woman in America today. It is not surprising that her publicist dropped her. You can't take the stink out of a turd, can you?
-
I am surprised Dr. Phil had this octopussy's publicist on his show and I tried to sign up in order to comment on his on-line forum but have not - to date - heard back from him. Maybe he didn't like it that I was an atheist....

You bring up a very good point. Pregnancy is gonna play havoc with the spine!!! Ouch! -
I spoke with my brother today about octopussy. He is a doctor who lives in Virginia and he finds the situation to be a deplorable one. He says that the mother is obviously non too stable and is unable to provide the children with an adequate standard of life but he feels that it is her doctors who acted in a really irresponsible way by impregnating her with all these embryos. Looking after preemies in a hospital is expensive, by his admittedly conservative estimate it will cost .5 million per infant. The taxpayers of California are going to be on the hook for a bunch before this mess is sorted out. He thinks that the state should punish the docs.
