I am confused, Hana, as to why you troubled yourself to raise this issue and then refuse to provide any specifics in order to support your claim. This is generally considered to be poor internet manners. Gadget is being entirely reasonable when she requests that you give examples in order to back up your statement.

:faint:LMFAO :D:D:D:D That is so true! :heh:

Did you have any complications in surgery?
green replied to mandi78's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I had the operation last year at the age of 57 and had absolutely no complications and very little pain apart from that caused by gas, and that pain was my own fault. I should have walked around the house more during the first few days after the surgery instead spending all my time reading and napping. -
lotsakids, I think your post is an excellent one. I lived in France for a 3 years and my experience of that country is the same as yours.

Cum to think of it, you are right! :phanvan

A very good practice, I think. :biggrin1: You don't want to overuse it. Don't want to wear that sucker out! :waytogo:

Wow! I am eating crow even as I type. It's one thing which is band-compatible! I didn't know this about Ontario and grass. Cool, I think that lots of things should be legal, but not indoors nor while driving a car. Well, maybe prostitution should be brought indoors... I very much apologize for my erroneous and snarky post.

That is so weird. I am fascinated by little people. I am always happy when I run into one on the public transit and will make sure that I sit close enough that I can watch without embarassing the little cat. I once rented and watched an entirely unfunny brain-dead movie because it had little people in it. I hate clowns and I think I hate monkeys. I know I hate chimps. I prefer animal and nature charities. I'm a liberal kinda broad and even though I am on a bunch of meds for depression, a genetic thing by the way, I really like my life. I find it very entertaining. -
That is a very sad story, grrl. You have all my sympathy.

I am very much in the way of a libertarian when it comes to the issues of sexual practices between consenting adults and this includes prostitution, the use of soft drugs, and the use of tobacco and alcohol. Nevertheless, I am all for certain curbs. In France it is illegal for prostitutes to solicit near schools or hospitals. This seems like a good idea to me. The current legislation which bans indoor smoking in public places also makes sense. While I am a libertarian when it comes to the use of alcohol, I do believe that the penalty when caught driving under the influence should be severe, and the penalty for killing someone while driving under the influence should be very severe. It should be noted that using a cell phone while driving is also an unsafe practice, some say that this is almost as risky as driving under the influence. Nevertheless, I do not believe that suffering a whiff of second hand tobacco or marijuana smoke while you are on the street and not in an enclosed space is anymore lethal than sucking in a load of vehicle fumes. While you may disapprove of the practice of smoking this really is an ill-advised witch hunt. Open air smoking fumes do not equal car exhaust. I live in Toronto, which is a large city in southern Ontario. As soon as the mercury begins to rise during the summer months we find ourselves subjected to a number of days when there are smog advisories. These are warnings that the air in southern Ontario and northern New York state just isn't moving and that it is so polluted that we should avoid outdoor activities. Now, this toxic air is blamed upon excessive vehicle use and on industry; no one has blamed the cigarette and ganja smokers as of this time of writing. Each summer we citizens are asked to car pool/use public transit and to avoid turning on our air conditioners as much as possible. We have never yet been asked to butt out. Smokers in Ontario have long been accustomed to being forbidden to smoke indoors in public places. As for ganja, this has never, ever been legal in Ontario. It is certain that the above poster is not clear on her facts. Canada's previous government was considering decriminalizing the simple possession of pot. This change would have meant that the guy caught with a joint or two would never end up clogging up our legal system; dealers would still be on the hook. This is, as you can see, entirely different from legalising the drug. I will also mention that Ontario is only one of ten Canadian provinces and as such simply cannot set its own policies on the legalisation of those drugs which are deemed to be illegal by the federal government of Canada. I will mention that I do, however, have friends who smoke even though I don't. I sure don't have anything against pot, it is just that this is a drug which reacts very badly with my own brain chemistry. I don't enjoy the drug. This is why I don't use it. I have never become stoned from smelling pot fumes. I will also confess that I found the above posts very irritating because the writer showed no grasp of the facts concerning either Ontario or Canada's stand on soft drug use.

D, unlike men we women don't keep our brains in our genitals. But keep on looking for your, er, brains snack there. You will make a lot of women very, very happy. Um, yep, very happy! :whoo:

I hear ya. This is why I am more comfortable living downtown. I am always kind of jumpy whenever I am out in the country because I know that where ever there is nature there are also snakes. Urghhhh! -

I've done it on a plane, on a train, in a car, and on a ferry, but I have never done it in an elevator. I know someone who has, however. -
Derick, my sweet, you haven't been eating enough brains, um, or you haven't been eating the right ones. :heh:

Well, now that's a drag. Fighting via PM denies the rest of us the pleasure of watching the brawl. :car:

Yep, amazing and fantastic are also horribly overused but I think I still hate awesome most of all. :car: This is not to say that I don't hate the overuse of the others; I do. :angry

Swimmer, your mother sounds unsupportive. A lot of us who post here have had similar experiences with their own families. Congratulations on getting the band.

I think the phrase, "built like a brick shit house," is actually supposed to be a compliment. It means that you are really well built.

I am really tired of hearing the word awesome used to describe just about everything better than just okay. Let's have some variety in the vocabulary department, sez Green.

Cramps,feeling more restricted and hungry!

My diet was much more strict: a week of clear fluids, two weeks of full fluids, followed by two weeks of mushies. Have you talked to your surgeon about your tightness yet? -

My mile high event took place in a washroom in a Boeing 747 on a flight from Toronto to Paris. A couple of air attendants smirked when we both exited from the toilet together. Most people were asleep. Here is another unknown fact about me: I have a snake phobia. I cannot even look at photos of them. -
Wow, this is a bummer. Can't you get a different shrink to do your evaluation? If you are able to work it sounds as though you are in pretty good shape. I suffer from clinical depression and was off work twice because of this. I am on Wellbutrin, Selexa, and Topamax and this combo seems to be working pretty well at the moment. I will be on meds for depression for the rest of my life. Going off them is not an option for me. :phanvan What kind of questions do they ask in order to figure out if you are a candidate for the surgery? Up here in Canada it is a question of your cheque book doing all the talking.
