    6 days post op, paranoid!

I had my 1 week post-op MD visit today - I am very fortunate that my doctor's regamine is 2 days of Clear Liquids followed by 2 weeks of full liquids which can include thinned out oatmeal, runny mashed potatoes, small curd, low fat cottage cheese and cream soups (strained). I have lost 5 pounds since surgery and only feel hungry when it's close to meal time. I find that if I don't drink my Water or other clear liquid like I'm supposed to, I do feel a bit hungry in between meals - so I would say keep the fluids coming! I also have been told that the pouch will not stretch because of liquids, they run right through. Which is why you are supposed to wait AT LEAST 30 minutes before drinking after eating - the liquid will flush the food through quicker and you will end up feeling hungry faster. Good luck friends - stay strong - it HAS to be worth it in the end.

    December Bandsters 2009

Hello Everyone. My name is Jean! I found out Wednesday that my band date is December 30th. I am SO EXCITED!!!! My doctor normally only does surgeries on Tuesdays and Fridays. My original date was Jan. 5th 2010. I explained to the sugical scheduler that my son graduates from Army Bootcamp in January and I'm not sure when, so I don't want to schedule anything for the month of January. She said she thought the doctor was starting to do just a couple on Wednesday mornings, that she would check with him and get back to me. She called me about 3 or 4 hours later with the good news! I was doing the happy dance around the office.

    got my insurance approval today!

How exciting! CONGRATULATIONS! Keep us posted!
  4. Hi Everyone. I am new to this site. My surgeon suggested that I try it out. I live in upstate NY in a very small town about 40 miles North of the Pennsylvania border. I have been traveling through this journey of WLS since July 2oo9. At this point, I do not have a surgery date. My surgeon's office is waiting on reports from some of the testing MDs. I am very optimistic and excited about this journey. I am in great hopes that I will have the surger by the end of Jan. 2010. Just looking to see what everyone else has to say about their journey and gather as much information as possible.

Mel - Best of wishes to you. I look forward to hearing about your journey. Whodathunk that any of us would be so excited about surgery? But then, this surger is such a blessing.
