Congrats, welcome to onderland!!Karen

Not me, but since you asked, I think probably swollen for the fill. My surgeon's office suggests 2 days clear and 2 days full liquids after a fill. Its a little stick, but at least try liquids today to see if that helps. If not, maybe go back Monday for a slight unfill. Karen
-
My surgeon, also, takes that precaution. I heard him tell a teacher to come in for an unfill if she contracted the stomach virus going around school. Best wishes, and hope you feel better, soon. Karen

Ladycrafter, so glad you are doing well. Sometimes the fills are too much! Karen

I can't eat steak, my surgeon says not of any kind. Too hard to chew up. I can eat chicken thighs and breast meat if there's sauce with it. I can't eat much raw food. Iceberg lettuce is a definite nono. Asparagus tips and broccoli crowns are my friends when well done. I have learned to live with my band after almost 3 years. My suggestion is to experiment with foods. Getting stuck is not fun. Like the other person said bread is mostly something I stay away from but I can eat a 1/2 bread stick at a restaurant. best wishes. Karen

Best wishes, all good advice! Don't beat yourself up, tho'. Karen

The 60s -- the greatest decade to grow up in!
kll724 replied to SassySenior's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Not sure what to answer you on this. I know that I am too tight at anything above 5.cc. You may be like me on that. My surgeon refuses to make me any tighter because when he does the barium swallow doesn't pass, not even with a water chaser! Best wishes, and as Shiki said, you might have to search for answers in another part of the forum. Karen -
Well, everyone is different! My 1st ever case of getting stuck was pizza! It caused me to start sliming and then it wanted to come up. If you can make yourself take tiny bites, stop at 1 small slice, and have crispy crust, you might be bale to eat it after you heal. Right now, you are just in the dreaming about food stage. I watched every commercial on TV and drooled after my surgery. But remember, eating it, may have contributed to your weight problem. Best wishes, Karen

Unfilled Band 1 Year Later Is Now To Tight
kll724 replied to t.redfield's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
My daughter started having gall bladder problems shortly after the birth of my grandson. If they have not checked you for that, have it checked. But, whatever you do , go back to your lapband surgeon's office for advice and a check up. Bets wishes, Karen -
Not The Daughter My Mother Wished I Would Be
kll724 replied to newskinnygal's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Hugs to you. Your mother did you a terrible disservice. I hope that you can look past that and see the good in you..Best wishes on your upcoming surgery. My daughter and I never saw eye to eye when she was growing up; but I never would have been needlessly cruel. We are now good friends, and we have both had lapband surgery. Karen -
Something Great Happened!

Congrats, and those are some of the best NSV"S, (non-scale victories)! Best wishes for continued success. Karen -
Too tight! If you are having trbl eating everything and have done liquids for a few days to make sure you are not swollen from your fill, you might need a slight unfill. Best wishes, Karen

Yea for NSV's!

I Am A Bit Over Zealous In The Burping Department.....

NO, my experience is that the burps are just little tiny ones, and not gross stinky ones. The gas releases from you somehow! Better from burps! Karen -
Return To Work Was A Complete Failure. :(
kll724 replied to Lori Voss Green's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
You are not a baby, I agree with newskinnygal. It is actually harder to sit than to stand after surgery. Others can do so much more, my own surgeon swore that he had surgery in Mexico on Friday was home and back doing surgery on Monday! Whatever, you take the time you need not what others say! Bless you and good luck, Karen -
That growling is normal, your stomach is getting used to the lack of food to digest. Don't worry about drinking to often, you can't at this stage, just remember to SIP your liquids don't try to guzzle, it will come up! Best wishes to all, Karen

Eating With Large Groups At Big Meals After Lap Band
kll724 replied to Lapbandster's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
You are so right. This should be the reason that we all get the band. Not for show or someone else, but for us. The 1st time I wen to and saw what others, and probably myself before lb, put on plate, it grossed me out. Eat what and how much you are comfortable with and let the others eat and be stuffed. You will enjoy life more not being stuffed! And maybe, you can start a new tradition of going out to play with the young folks! Karen -
Skyvic, you are right on That is a great description and probably the best one that I have heard of the"green" zone. It is not about restriction; it is about your 3 meals and satisfaction and loosing weight, and not getting sick! Thanks , Karen

I, eat most of my fruit in smoothy form as others save said. I did eat a cherry without trbl. I don't eat most other fruits tho'. Blueberries with their skins are sneaky and I have gotten stuck even when using them in smoothy form. Lucky the lapbander who can eat fruit. Karen

Went To Seminar, Confused And Have Some Questions
kll724 replied to knknosmom's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I and many others like me have lost 100+ lbs. I don't eat steak, I will agree with your surgeon on that. It is hard to digest, also, beef of any sort. I eat very little pork , but eat lots of chicken and seafood. I,also, eat little salad as I have hard time not getting stuck on lettuce, but everyone is different. Tmf is right, he may not push the lapband in his office. My surgeon's office doesn't do gastric bypass. Best wishes, Karen -
Eating With Large Groups At Big Meals After Lap Band
kll724 replied to Lapbandster's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Usually, those folks are so busy pigging out that they can't see what you are not eating. Just take a little and eat a little. If someone does notice, which is unlikely, just say well not too hungry, today. If you have something on your plate, they should ignore that yo are not skarffing down everything in site. -
What Do Your Meals Look Like 2 Or 3 Years Out?
kll724 replied to sjwillow's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I tend to stick to a fish type meal. I don't do salads well. For right now, since you don't have a fill, you could do salad. I, also, tend to eat an appetizer for my meal. I went out for my birthday to Longhorn, and got chicken Marsala that I ate for 3 days with take home. I will, also, get a meal that my husband likes to share with him. Best wishes. Karen -
