Best wishes to you both. Try walking around a bit. If it continues, you might be doing too much, too soon! Good luck, Karen

Why Do I Feel Stuck In My Chest Instead Stomach
kll724 replied to Kristie_melvin's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I agree with TKW, you are probably a mite to tight. How long have you been having this problem? If you already had a revision, I would not want to have another because you are too tight! Call your surgeon's office. Karen -
Sick And Tired Of People Being Rude/discouraging
kll724 replied to Lapbandster's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
you are doing great! And 24 lbs in 2 months is nothing for the critics to complain about. Many people have misconceptions about lapband; they think its gastric bypass! By the way, I opened this because i thought you were upset by the people on here who criticize others. I am glad to find that it was not! Best wishes and keep up the great work!!!Karen -
Slips are usually found by your surgeon during a flouroscope. I had trouble keeping anything down, including water. But, a slip can happen anytime, and you might not even know. best wishes, see your surgeon for further advise about the phlem It can be, also, from the digestion activity. Best wishes. Karen

I have used it both ways. I have used flat coke which was in the cupboard for weeks. I use only about an ounce or two. For me it pushes it down, but both my kids, who also have bands, said that it makes them pb. I, also, have found that for some reason it needs to be the regular stuff not the calorie free(?). Don't know why! What ever you use, just limit yourself to a few sipsnot a bottle or even a glass full. Best of luck, Karen

If you use soda, make sure it is flat and warm. I have used coke and 7up, and ginger ale all. But, make sure they are flat, You shouldn't have a carbonation. By the way, for being stuck, coke is the best roto-rooter I have found. Best wishes, Karen

My surgeon's office says the same thing; I think it is because you can't truly vomit with the band, and straining will cause a slip. Believe me, been there, done that!!! Take care, sometimes we won't get the bug, as our bodies have seen many of them and can fight them better than the kiddos! Best wishes, Karen

There are a lucky few that can get restriction without a fill. Restriction, also, can be different than green zone. I, also, do not go 5-6 hours between meals, 4 is almost my max, but, if busy, I could probably forget to eat all day. Being satisfied and restriction, I think are 2 different things. For instance, I have had restriction so intense I couldn't get anything down. Green zone is being satisfied with 3-4 oz of protein, and a 1/4-1/2 cup veggies and maybe, at times, a carb. Best wishes for all to green zone satisfaction!!! Karen

Still Hurting And In Pain From Pb'ing
kll724 replied to donna12's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Dear Jerseyshoredinsneydiva, PB=productive burping, it is similar to vomiting, but it is undigested food, and it doesn't taste nasty, and it is something that can happen anytime, anywhere, and you usually can not prevent it. If anyone has a better explanation, please jump in! Take care and follow your surgeon's directive as much as possible,l that is what they are paid for!!Best wishes, Karen -
Not sure, but if you are worried, call your surgeon's office. I had a slip; it was not like that, but then, I guess that this could be a slip, too! Best wishes. Karen

Pb'd Yesterday, Bandster Vets, What Did I Do Wrong?
kll724 replied to 2012's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Sounds like portabella mushroom pizza was not the right thing for you to eat. My 1st ever PB, back 3 years ago was after eating a slice of pizza. Best wishes to you! -
It is trail and error. But, personally, if I eat asparagus, broccoli, etc...I eat the spears and no stalks. I stay away from iceberg lettuce and celery. I don't eat steak or pork..I eat chicken with sauce of some sort, otherwise it is too dry. I eat a lot of fish! I can eat toast or hard bread sticks. Best wishes for you, Karen

Hey folks its our 3rd bandiversary month. How is everyone doing? Have you met goal? My own experience is met goal, but maintenance is hard for me! I am unfortunately gaining weight. I know what I need to do, but need to push myself, as has been noted by Jean, to the want power!!I I always said not will power but won't power. I won't eat what I am not supposed to eat. Well, just checking in, and wishing everyone in October 2009 a Happy 3rd Bandiversary. My date is Oct 30, what's yours? Karen

Usually a slip involves not being able to eat/drink without PB. But, since you have had it for 5 years, adn this is a new experience for you, do call you dr ASAP! Best wishes. Karen

Yes Gas-x is fine, use the strips as Soshallbuterfli said! I hope that you feel better. Did they give you a pain med? If they did, and you are just out of surgery in the last day or 2, try the pain med, too! Best wishes, Karen
-
Absolutely, they are probably the safest thing out there as they melt in your mouth. Hope that you feel better! Karen
-
Best wishes Floridays, bugs are nasty when you have the band. A slight unfill may be needed. I hope that you are feeling better. Hugs to you! Karen

What Does The Full Feeling Feel Like With The Lap Band?
kll724 replied to TIGERLILY1988's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Never go for the "full" feeling. You should go for satisfied. Full is uncomfortable and will cause pains in your upper chest. Not comfortable. Satisfied comes 1st. Many people get a hick or burp. Mostly you eat your 4 oz of protein and your 1/2 cup veggie and then you are satisfied. don't overeat, it is not what you are looking for! Karen -
5 Days Post Op, Craving Meat
kll724 replied to lilbrigy's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Have some beef broth, or I like Chinese hot and sour soup. Just have the broth, leave the veggies etc for the disposal. You can survive, we all did. best wishes!! Karen -
No, a slip will not allow you to eat more! A slip will cause you to eat less and pb more! Best wishes. Karen
-
mine has me on clear liquids for the 1st 2 days and full liquids for the next 2. He is, also, very conservative. Glad that you survived,

Looking good, best wishes. Karen

yes, goal is elusive and can be hard to maintain. Usually, your surgeon will adjust your fill as need be. Best wishes. Karen

I agree, we are cheerleaders, usually, don't ask if you are losing too fast, your surgeon is the only one that can advise of that. Great losses, and best wishes. Karen
