Best wishes, and Happy New Year!

The great thing about your "short cut" is that it keeps you on the straight and narrow. It is not easy, but it has been good for me and so many others. I have lost and gained proabaly 1000 lbs over my 64 years of life. This "tool" has been the best for me. See carolinagirl, she would , probably" have not lost 88 lbs since June 6 without it. And Floridays, she lost a large amount, like 275, I think. She would not, more than likely, stayed on her "diet' plan long enough to lose that weight without the lapband. It is worth it for me and so many others. Good luck with your decision. Happy New year.

I laugh about the Weight Watcher comments from Annie1976. i joined only 2 x, but both times lost my 10% and then got off track and bored with dieting. That was one of my goals with lapband. It keeps you on your weightloss journey. When you get bored with dieting, the lapband tool keeps you in site of your "new life". Now, I am not saying it's easy or that you can't eat around the band, you can, but if you treat your band right, you can and will lose weight! I lost 100 lbs and have been maintaining for 2 year. My son has lost 100 lbs and gone from a 52 inch waist to a 36 inch, a 3x shirt to a large Best wishes and happy New year to everyone. Karen

Lapband failure / waste of time and money
kll724 replied to tmurphy's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
There a not a lot of people like sparkplug, but there are some. I have often wished that I was one of them. I have lost my 100 lbs, and am happy, but still have stuck episodes. You keep saying dry foods, I can't eat dry foods. If you are meaning non-mushy or solids, I think that possibly you are waiting too long and eating too fast. Take smaller bites, chew well and try to stay away from sliders and empty calories It is easier to lose weight with gastric bypass because they cut- away most of your stomach. It is a permanent fix, but a person can eat around that too. I have a friend who lost an amazing amount of weight and after 5 years is huge again, too. You must learn that this is a new way of life. Best wishes, and Happy New Year, and New you!!!Karen -
I bought the book because I had written an article and answered questions posed to me by the authors. It is a very informative book. I intend to donate mine to the lapband surgeon's office. Right now, my son-in-law has it, as he just had his surgery on Nov 30. It will make a statement, and then follow up with someone on the Lapband forum's experience. It is pricy, but well worth it if you are just beginning your journey. Karen

White meat vs Dark meat?
kll724 replied to Rebecca Cain Salpacka's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
If I eat white meat, I use sauce of some sort. I am best with dark meat, too! I guess you are pretty close to green/restriction. Good luck and take care. i can't eat steak of any sort. Karen -
Congrats on your beakthough. I, also, like bread. I was raised on nice, hot fresh from the oven bread; and you could cut it thick as you want. yummy! But, it is a downfall for me too! I don't eat it,except a roll at a restaurant at times. It is nopw easier to stay away from since my band doesn't like it, too! Happy New Year to you! Karen

Shoulder pain after eating??
kll724 replied to lucypets's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My sign is also a baby hiccup. And then if I don't stop, I may get huge burp! I knew yesterday after only a few bites of turkey and yams, that I was done. Then we went to Epcot and walked it off! I wanted to see a show, but if you didn't make dinner res, you had to wait int he standby line, it was a 2 hr wait. We walked around and returned home(40 miles0. -
Interesting. I can get down and up without a problem. Yeah lapband!

Wow! you look amazing!

IM GETTING UPSET READY TO GIVE Up
kll724 replied to MsRhonda's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I agree with Carolinagirl, you have to motivate yourself at this point. I hate soup too! My hubby keeps making soups; he shares them with the extended family because i just don't want any! I guess after you are past that stage, you don't want anymore! I, also, ate up the sugar free popsicles like they went out of style! They can get you through the hardest times! Good luck and happy New year to the new you! Karen -
Banded this A.M. - A Great Experience!
kll724 replied to Uncle Ted's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Merry Christmas, Ted! Great present to yourself, and you are early starting to the dreaded New Year diet! Stay positive, and keep coming back to advise how you are doing! My advice, if you want it, is to walk as much as possible, it wil help the gas move. Best wishes, Karen -
Trouble getting water in???
kll724 replied to errikadb's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I agree, this is normal. Just keep sipping! No one expects you to drink all your water the few days after your banding. Keep sipping, do no guzzle! Best wishes and Merry Christmas!
