A slipped bad is a BIG deal! I have had to have fluid removed once and 1 1/2 years later have a revision. I am better since, but if the revision didn't work, it would have had to be replaced! Best wishes to you! Karen

Bingo wings......Aaarrrggghhhhh!!!!! ????
kll724 replied to MrsColeman's topic in Fitness & Exercise
Surgery is good for getting rid of them, but then you have these awful scars running from your elbow to your under arm. My choice is ignoring them. They do go down as you lose your weight. I refuse to have that operation, seen the scars on too many, and then you still can't wear sleeveless, because if you lift your arms, the scars! -
Coughing at night - do I need an unfill?
kll724 replied to nurse535's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I find that if I eat too late at night, I will have night coughs and phlegm coming into my mouth, choking me. I am not too tight myself, but need to remember not to eat after 8pm. -
Your scar is still healing. I have had a hysterectomy and even after several years, the scar would itch. Sometimes my port sticks out. As you lose, it will become more dominate, mine sticks out when I am in the swimming pool! Best wishes, Karen

To all ye successful bandsters
kll724 replied to brannewmee's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
What the others have said, sage advice. My biggest thing is don't be afraid to discuss concerns with your surgeon. I am 3 1/2 years out and still have questions at times. Best wishes. Karen PS: Not horse race, a live style change! -
24 hrs since surgery how much liquid do I drink ???
kll724 replied to mrsluckyvega's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Sip as often as you feel like you can. No guzzling, but just sip whenever you are able to and are thirsty! Best wishes. Karen -
I think I lost 6 lbs the 1st month. Stalled out later and only lost about 2 lbs a week. You are doing fantastic. Don't worry! It is neither a race or gastric bypass. Bets wishes. karen

I love jack cheese and cheddar melted on my ice cake. Yummy! I tend toward spicy now, too!

I know they say no drink w meals, but is 2 oz. too much?
kll724 replied to Myndkandi's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Yes, that is the point. You don't want to wash it down. It needs to go down slowly to keep you from getting hungry quicker. If you tae a sip, to rinse your mouth and wet it. that should be fine. 2 oz is way too much to drink right after your meal! Of course, that is my opinion, check with your surgeon. Other people will have other opinions too,.. -
I, also, wore a sports bra after surgery. It, usually, gets better. Karen

I,also, have one, but have never used it either. I am of the over 55 group, and order off that menu a lot. The serving s are smaller there , too. Some restaurants have gone to 1/2 servings, check your menu for that. (it is a least one chain, can't remember which one). The card can be ordered through some of the papers in teh packet you get from you surgeon's office. Karen PS: I have found that a lot of people in the restaurant industry are being aware of the small amount lapband people eat, so sometimes just ask!

Mine was pretty much like carolinagirl!

I know that my son-in-law, also tried it for awhile. He ate 2 of everything because he was super hungry. he lsot some weight. But, since he had lapband he has done much better and isn't super hungry anymore. but, I can't answer the questions of if it would be good for us. Why don't you try one of the frozen meals they are less expensive. Best wishes!Karen

I have no advice, but want to give you a hug. ((((((hug)))))!!! Best wishes. (oh, I would include your Lapband surgeon into your search). Karen

had my first apple today
kll724 replied to donna12's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
If, I have apples, it has to be without skin. The skin of any fruit, and also the membrane of citrus, I can't get down. Congrats on your success at eating your first apple! Karen -
I drink at least 2 large cups of coffee a day. I, like, B-52, returned to coffee shortly after surgery. I drink with skim, which is considered clear liquid. So, after putting up with clear tea for a week, I switched to coffee. Best wishes. Karen

Neither did i! This place is getting to be real uptight. Alex seems to be doing a good job, and self policing is the way for adults to act.

Wow! with a weight loss like that, I am surprised that the PA gave you a fill, my surgeon's office would not! You are doing fantastic, keep the weightloss up!

Wise women here! They speak the truth. Do some self speak to see if you speak the truth to yourself! Best wishes! Karen

Where did you go for 6 month pre op diet?
kll724 replied to brock1021's topic in Insurance & Financing
I was able to get this from my surgeon's office because I didn't want to go to my own PCP. My son, also, completed his 6 month pre-diet with the same surgeon's office. Just make sure that your appointments are at least 30 days apart!!!!!! Not being the month apart can/will affect your insurance coverage. Best wishes, and welcome to you future! Karen
