New member waiting on decision would love some info
kll724 replied to Kate Sinfield-Brown's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I, like tmf, have no information for you concerning answers from UK. We have many UK people on here though. Best wishes, and I hope that you can get answers that you seek. Karen -

kll724 replied to str1349's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Absolutely, I have 5 cc, but can't take 5.2 cc in my band. Great hearing that you are getting back on track.Karen -

This preop diet is harder than it looks!
kll724 replied to gina418393's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was so afraid that my liver would not have shrunk enough, so that alone kept me on the right path! -
Unlike most of the others have said, my lapband restricts the amount of food intake I can eat. Lastnight, my husband made spaghetti and meatballs. The meatballs were appetizer size, and still I could only eat 3(very small) and a 1/4 cup of spaghetti which fully filled me up. Good thing both her and my daughter-in-law are big eaters. My son, who also has lapband, ate 2 meatballs. Our lapbands are not tight, just restrictive. Best wishes to all and as you can see, all are different! Karen

Fell off the wagon today totally, so bummed about it
kll724 replied to donna12's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Amen! to what everyone said. You had one bad day, you will be fine! We are learning a new way of living. We are learning to eat to live, not live to eat. "Falling off the wagon" is normal, just get back up and start again. Dark chocolate can be girls best friend at times. Just eat a bite and put it away in the freezer for another stressful day! Best to you, Karen -
Pulling at port incision
kll724 replied to Sandilee0210's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I hate to be an "old meany". But you all need to get up off the couch and walk around. I am so glad that your husband made you go to Walmart! smart man. You more than likely, are just healing, but your surgeon's office is your best friend at this time. Make sure to follow surgeon's orders. Welcome to all new lapbanders. You will do fine, but don't just lay there, get up and move! Don't push vacuum cleaners, or tr clean your house, but get off the couch and walk around. best wishes, Karen -

Band Revision Due To Slippage
kll724 replied to Vicki Osbourne's topic in Revision Weight Loss Surgery Forums (NEW!)
Hi Vicki, I also, had band slippage and a revision. It will be 2 years in November that my revision was. I am in green zone, but have gained some. I still have to stick to low calories because my surgeon will not fill me any more than I have due to my getting too tight. I am at 5.cc. i am happy where I am at. i hope to hear from you, I can try to talk about my revision, but its been awhile. Karen -
3 years Post Op No regrets EVER
kll724 replied to Golferlady22's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
pbrwester, it sounds like you have a slippage. Please see your surgeon. Karen Congrats to good attitude golferlady22. You can and wil lose the extra weight! -
Good luck to you!Getting the right fill is important. take care.Karen

Some surgeons do put a slight fill in when they put the lapband into place. I have never heard of pain meds after a fill. My surgeon, and others, recommends a day or 2 of liquids. Mine says 2 days clear and 2 days full liquids. you will be swollen after a fill, and liquids make it easier to ease the swelling.

Bath reminds me of Calgon moments, "Calgon, take me away"!!Get some candles and relax, enjoy your new NSV as often as possible! Karen

Shonna, please fill out your profile. 170 may be a good weight for you, or it may be way too much. I never realized that I was green, either. But, my surgeon will not give me a fill. I am in maintenance and have been for 1 1/2 years. You might need to increase your exercise level, food intake of proteins and water. Changing most anything, will cause a plateau to change, too. best wishes, Karen

Best wishes, folks. Important to see your surgeon when you are having problems described above. Karen

Four and a half months in...
kll724 replied to raerae8513's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
I do not know why you ladies who have lost 66 lbs in less than 6 months think that you are slow losers! That is fantastic!! Your picture shows the weightloss. Spring is a great time to shop for in smaller sizes. best wishes! Karen -
It sounds as if you are doing okay. are you losing? Since you seem to be losing and are satisfied with your losses, you are probably heading toward your green zone. I am green at 5cc. Best wishes, Karen

Congrats on both your weight loss and your bandiversary!

After 3 1/2 years, I have very little appetite for food! The thought, makes me go yuck! I eat mostly fish, had baby calves liver lastnight. It was very tender and I was able to eat it, and digest it fine. It was the only "red" meat I have eaten recently. I was at a convention this week, and they fixed some pork, it was good, too. I don't miss most foods, now! Karen
