I like having a flouro fill, otherwise my surgeon is unable to tell if the water, or barium is going down. he gave me .25 cc and I was too tight, water took like a minute to go down. The barium only passed when he removed the .25 that he had added. The other way to tell, is he has had people walk around in his office and outside until they had water pass. NOT FOR ME!!! I don't want to be that tight!!Best wishes, Karen

Two big moments today...
kll724 replied to megamomnj's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Congrats on both the NSV and the scale victory!Karen -
Congrats on your weightloss, glad you are feeling better. Stomach viruses are one of the worst things that can happen to a lapbander. I am glad that you go through the ordeal. Losing/gaining are not significant while you are heaving!!!Glad you are back to the living! Karen

I wish you good luck! Hopefully you are not too tight, but have restriction! karen

Question for those who been banded for awhile...
kll724 replied to Anume 937's topic in WLS Veteran's Forum
After being banded for almost 3 years, I, also, use a straw when using a straw seems to be the right thing. I follow most of my surgeon's rules, but he is happy with me, so if I use a straw he would probably be fine. (By the way, his office staff use straw, when needed too)!!! -
Going for first fill April 2nd--Hopeful
kll724 replied to Cindy2013's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
wow! you are busy. Good for you that you are seeing a doctor for your medical problem. i did not lose much before my 1st fill, either. Some folks do, some don't. Never be embarrassed, because people who are, sometimes, don't go for their check ups! Go and get your fill and best wishes to you! Karen -

How exciting for you! Your journey is about to start! Join us for answers, but follow your surgeon's orders. We are not medical, but can offer advice from our own perspective. Congrats! Karen -
The weather is finally nicer here in Central Florida. It should be great weather for a walk! Get out and enjoy if your weather is suitable, too!

No, you can get stuck anytime. If you get stuck continually after fill, you are probably too tight! karen

Normal, and will probably get yellow and bluish even more before they are healed. Best wishes, Karen

Cottage cheese is a a solid per my nutritionist! Stick with it, you are healing an could do damage to your healing process. You can do it, most of us have made it. As stated from by jlly_bean, I had a whole month of liquid, too. If you are going to do anything, try real liquidy cream of wheat, that was on my full liquid diet!Best wishes, Karen

Looking good! happy Monday to you, too! No April Fool, here! Karen

Port want to come out stabbing pain
kll724 replied to balbuquerque's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
You are still healing. The port area is the last to heal. Did you do something that may have stretched or hurt that area? I made the mistake of lifting a small box and (as usual) using my belly to support my carrying it. OOOh! did I ever hurt and had to readjust that situation. Take care! Heal well. best wishes, karen -
what's your post fill instructions? my doc is really vauge!! ugh
kll724 replied to str1349's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
My surgeon requires 2 days clear, and two days full liquids. This is to make sure that the swelling has gone down before trying to eat. I can see definitely that you after 7 years will need to follow your surgeon's instructions well as you will probably have swelling. Best wishes on your restart to you journey to a better you! Karen -
I, always, eat of a salad plate. When I 1st started with my pre-diet, 3 years ago, I used a child fork and spoon. I, now, use a salad fork along with my salad plate. When I set the table, my son and I get salad forks and plate(my son had surgery in 2011), and my hubby an d-i-l get full size plates and forks. You can fool your eyes and stomach with just this little help! Good wishes to all. Karen

Does Medicare cover a band revision + plication for a BMI of 27.5?
kll724 replied to marfar7's topic in Revision Weight Loss Surgery Forums (NEW!)
They covered my revision back 1 1/2 year as ago, but we are under the "new" medicare. I am not sure what, or if, they would cover your needed procedure. My surgeon said they would not cover my appointments because I was not at 35 bmi, which they did last year. So, my answer is, check with the surgeon's insurance and medicare specialist. That's my only answer. Sorry!!Karen
