  1. My own surgeon said he has no problem with people going on a 1 week all liquid diet 1x a month. Maybe you need to try that! I will have my 4 year bandiversary on Oct 30. I, through my own fault, have gained too, but I am back on track. My surgeon removed .1 ml out of my band. I asked for a fill, he said I was a little too tight! So, I had been making bad choices because it was easier to eat slider foods. Are they your choices too? Best wishes on your breaking the plateau! Karen

    LAPBAND DIDN'T WORK FOR ME

Well said Mis73! i don't think we are bullies, we just want others to understand what we have already heard or learned. Best wishes to folks just starting out, Most of us are experienced enough to know, 1st, we are not your medical team, 2nd, we are hear for support and all have been through the same weight loss problems, that's why we have had bariatric surgery, and need the "tool" for help.
  4. I agree, you should seek out an experienced Bariatric surgeon. Mine has done hundreds over the last 5 years. Mine, also, happens to do other type surgeries, such as gall bladder. Bets wishes on your search

I agree, I often buy just an appetizer for me.

    8.5

I agree with Jim, probably way to much. I sometimes can't even tolerate .1 or.2. Please call your surgeon's office to have a bit removed. Mine uses the floro all the time. If it is available, I would suggest doctor using it. Karen
  9. .1 removed made a big differnce to me, so adding a tiny bit should make a difference, too!

    Why is it?

Me too! I agree could be your blood pressure(which is very low) is dropping further while you walk.
  11. Congrats! Treat yourself, if only for new scrubs!
  12. Good morning! My favorite way to start my morning is to check on the lapabnd forum for update from my buds!

    Protein Shakes After Full Healing?

I have been banded for 3 1/2 years. My surgeon told me last week that he doesn't have a problem with me replacing my breakfast with a smoothy. I make my own with fruit and veggies, and a scoop of protein. He, also, said that he doesn't see any problem with doing a liquid diet 1 week a month. Now, I am on maintenance, so maybe that is the reason he says this! It is different than actual dieting! Karen

    61 And Just Beginning

Woohoo!to us "oldies", I was 61 when I had my lapband, too. That was almost 4 years ago. I no linger take any pills except vitamins. I got off my blood pressure meds after 18 months. I am proud to say that my blood pressure last week was 118/70. Karen

    Should I

I was like others, I probably lost and gained 1000 lbs over my years. I was on WW and lost 40 lbs, went on vac for 2 weeks, gained 20 back! Lapband is a tool for success!
  17. Sorry, it happens to the best of us! You will be okay! Stay calm and best wishes. Karen
  18. You are gorgeous! You have done a fantastic job. Go smiling into maintenance!

    Sweets

My cravings never went away. But as said try a small chocolate or whatever you crave and then get rid of the thing you had. Karen
  20. I, also, have a NInja. I like to use frozen fruit as I don't need ice cubes then. i like my smoothies to be somewhat frozen. I use frozen strawberries, and add some protein powder to the blend. My surgeon has no problem with me having smoothy for breakfast. My daughter is trying to turn me on to green smoothies like Alex mentioned. Good luck! Karen

    Hi Everone!

Welcome Annette! Lots of us in Florida on here! Where are you at? I live in central Florida about 40 miles from Orlando and same from Tampa! I see a dr in Zephyrhills. I was banded in 2009, I had a revision in 2011 and have, also, gained 30 lbs. I have just had a slight unfill becaue my surgeon felt I was eating around the band. I had stayed away from salads because I had a hard time chewing them well enough. He removed .1 ml of fluid and I just had my 1st successful salad in 3 years! I would be glad to be your friend! Karen
  22. Congrats to you! 1st step is the most important! You took the 1st step!

    Swimming

I agree with daddyof4, it is too soon to get into the water, if your stitches have not healed. I was told not even a bath until stitches heal. Hang in there!
  24. Best wishes, Wade, you are doing great!
