EAT ANYTHING YOU WANT & STILL LOSE WEIGHT!
kll724 replied to Jean McMillan's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Magazine
yes, I did read that article, too, Jean! I fight the desire everyday to drive to Starbucks for their Carmel frappachinno, or McDonald's for their carmel frape! I love them both, so does my body!!!They definitely are habit forming and pound forming, too! They are just as bad to me and for me as ice cream! -
Congrats to you both and God bless your journey!

Take care, rant all you want!! You need to heal, and it can be painful. take some Gas-x strips for the gas, and walk as much as you can. Walking will make the gas pass, quicker. Best wishes, Karen
-
Sounds like you are just in the healing processes. Don't overdo, don't lift anything too heavy. Sitting too long, might give a problem, too! So, walk, but don't exercise. Best wishes, on your healing. Karen

When did you get your fill? If it was yesterday, you are swollen and may need to stay on liquids. You don't want to have nausea. Sometimes, tightness in the chest is a mini-stop sign, that is telling you to stop eating. If you continue at that point, you may have an episode! best wishes. Karen.

Pounds versus Inches Question
kll724 replied to Judy Robinette's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Very possible. Lots of times your size shrinks before the scale moves. I am not surewhy, but great success! -
Sure does, it is a fantastic one, too!

EAT ANYTHING YOU WANT & STILL LOSE WEIGHT!
kll724 replied to Jean McMillan's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Magazine
God love you, Jean. You are such a wise and helpful person. We are, usually, not going to be able to eat whatever we want. I guess certain folks, such as your lady dietitian can, but most of us are here because we can't. Most of us have tried every diet known to man/woman. I still struggle, and have recently gained weight back to obese. I am tracking back to overweight, but it is a struggle because I made the mistake of being just a smidgeon to tight! I can't control my desire for ice cream. Recently, my hubby and I decided to cut out dairy, as we are both allergic. So, I have to, now, control my ice cream and frozen yogurt etc, munchies. It is a battle, even with the lapband!!!Thanks for an excellent post. Karen -
Tasty baby food flavors?
kll724 replied to MaggieMay702's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Only eaten apple sauce or bananas, when I was feeding a baby. If you want apple sauce, eat adult unsweetened. Otherwise, follow guide lines others mentioned! Best wishes, Karen -

Steri Strips itching
kll724 replied to asmith011289's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I hated the fact that they would just hang there for days, and not fall off. I was a "good girl" and did not pull them off even when they were hanging. Hang in there, they will fall off on their own time! -
Yes, indeed, add protein to your drinks to get the extra protein. Best wishes, on hair loss, I did not have that problem. (I think that my daughter says keratin, tho'(she has that hairloss problem)

You probably ar swollen. Did your surgeon suggest you stay on liquids for a few days? Mine recommends 2 days clear and 2 days full liquids. Make sure that you can swallow your saliva, it is important to make sure that you are not too tight. Best wishes. I was banded in 2009, also!

Band tied to emotions?
kll724 replied to Amanda1982's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Stay as best as you can. It is not wise to try eating right away, you will be swollen. My surgeon says 2 days clear and 2 days full liquids before eating solid foods again. Best wishes. Karen -
Busy afternoon, so today, I went into the pool before breakfast and felt wondeful. Usually I wait for hubby and use the pool in the afternoon.

Not only does the weather matter but the job situation too. I grew up in the Midwest. I lived in Maryland for 44 years after that. But, you can get used to any kind of weather after a few months. I agree with the person who said find a job 1st. When I moved to Florida, I was retired, so did not go into the job search. There are a lot of jobs available here, depending on what you are looking for. I would choose, Florida, Texas or North Carolina when looking, but then a little prejudice in choosing the East Coast!! Best wishes!!!!Karen

You can do it if you have determination! I am not saying liquid diet is easy. But, most of us have gone through it and been successful! Best wishes. Karen

Scale victory for today :)
kll724 replied to Julie121212's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
Congrats on your scale victory! -
It might be "green zone". But, most of us are swollen after fills, and on liquids, so could be that, too. Best wishes for green!
-
You are only 15 days out of surgery. You probably have a lot of head-hunger currently. You will need a fill, usually, but most surgeons don't fill until 6 weeks. You will be in "green zone" when you can go 3-4 hours without hunger and be satisfied with a small amount of food. Best wishes. Karen

I had a slip, 2x. The 1st one was like yours, and it was able to go back into place on its own once unfilled. The 2nd one, I needed surgery. Best wishes to you!

Calm down, if nothing else, you are getting healthier! You seem to be ontrack. Best wishes. Karen
