CAN ANYONE PLEASE HELP WITH THE FOLLOWING
kll724 replied to Q3Carla721's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Take it slowly, you just had major surgery! Drink enough to stave off the dizziness. Try Gatorade, or some other kind of protein mix, Special K has one to mix with water. Try having a popcicle, too! for gas, walking is good, also Gas-x tabs that melt on your tongue are helpful. -
2.5 years Later....still the best decision Ive ever made.

What do you do when you are craving low fat ice cream?
kll724 replied to sherrintxs's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I agree, try the single serving treats. They are okay and will stop your cravings! Best wishes, I, too, had the cravings, but am allergic, so finally took myself off of dairy approx 1 month ago. They are hard to stay off!!!!! -
Yes, liquids in, liquids out! sorry, but it's a fact! My best to you, stay close to a bathroom!

Any one in their 60's and wishing you had done it sooner?
kll724 commented on donna450's blog entry in Anyone in their 60's ?
I just turned 65. I was banded when I was 61. I have had my band for 3 1/2 years. I had wanted some kind of surgery for years, but had neither researched it, nor heard of lapbanding. I was never, too, self conscious until I was too heavy for one of the tables at a medical center, and they had to send me to another center which had a table for over 250 lbs. Then I was embarrassed! I was ready, too because of my arthritis and high blood pressure. Welcome to lapband! -
Mirror shock... the blinders are off!!!

It will get better, but congrats on the NSV of downsized clothes! -
I agree, we see a topic that we want to comment on, and then comment. But, there is a a Lapband Veterans Forum, but it is not always very active. So, join in wherever you want. Welcome back.Karen

Which Protein... Soy or Whey?
kll724 replied to rgkelley87's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I, now, stay away from both of them. We(hubby and I) bought Vega, which has neither soy or whey protein. I add water and it is delicious. It is made with pea protein, sacha inchi protein, sprouted whole grain brown rice protein, and alfalfa protein. We stay away from soy products, adn are allergic to dairy so no whey. It is a little pricey, but goes a long way. 26 grams protein, and 2.8 g sugar. Bets wishes, Karen -
Best wishes to you both!

Congratulations Joel, you are definitely an inspiration to the men who see mostly women on this site. I hope that others can follow in your footsteps. You and your family must be very proud of the job well done! bet wishes to a wonderful future!!Karen

Kind of agree with NJDad! Take the smaller rides that do not push on your stomach. Stay away from rides with tight restraints that might push on tummy or port. Enjoy and best wishes!

You would not be able to chug the water, as you are swollen and it will back up, possibly making you spit up. I can't remember when I was able to drink normally, but I am 3 1/2 years out, and still do not chug. I fI do, I get the same reaction as I told you above. If you feel real thrisy, have a popcicle! Good luck, Karen

Hi, my name is Quahog, and I'm addicted to ice cream....
kll724 replied to Quahog's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I did not test anything for almonds, but after 3 weeks, my muscles were sore, so I looked it up, and sounds like I can't have almonds or almond milk, either. i switched to coconut milk!
