Congrats!!!I am like elcee, never jogged 5 k, even after 3 1/2 years of lapband and exercising!

You might be too early for salad. I can't tolerate most lettuce, especially iceberg, as opposed to Sashawls. So, go slowly, and try it. Best wishes, Karen

I finally have restriction, but is it too much?
kll724 replied to Justaprettyface's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Glad to hear that you are feeling better, I hope that you are not overfilled. If, after a few days of liquids \, you still can't eat, call for a slight unfill, .1 cc makes a difference! Best wishes. Karen -
Yeah! NSV's are the best! So excited for you! Congrats!

Lost enough weight to question need for lap band
kll724 replied to oogie's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Me too to Terry and Sharpie. Lost, probably, 1000 lbs in my lifetime, but gained it back! Best wishes, I would never want to dissuade you from your own decision. 66 lbs is amazing in 6 months. Woohoo! -
Best wishes to a new day!

She probably isn't allowed to swim as her surgery was just 12 days ago and she is probably not healed where they sutured her. But, walking is great and you could be doing that. Slow down, you are still healing. You have lost n amazing amount of weight already, I hope that you are not disappointed that you might not get a fill. Don't rush your fills if you don't need one. Best wishes, and keep up the great work! Karen

I agree with mis73. I had gallbladder removal about 8 years before my lapband. I also, developed a bad case of pancreatitis afterwards. Seems that there were stones left me my bile duct. Neither my gallbladder nor my pancreatitis developed due to lapband! I guess it would be possible, if you have to have your gallbladder removed due to weight loss, but I don't think that that would cause you to get pancreatitis! If you think that you have a medical problem, see your surgeon. Best wishes. Karen

Yeah for NSV and DKNY!

Not having one, as in being retired!

Don't eat sushi, but had no trouble tolerating string cheese. Now, don't eat it due to lactose intolerance. But, as someone else said, Babybel is good so is Sargento. i don't do low-fat/no fat due to the higher sugar content.

Wow! You are doing great. You look so much younger, too! Keep up the great job, you will reach your goal in no time!

I agree with your decision. A wise man, and you know your own body and health. Best wishes to you!

It will happen for you too, one day you wake up and the scale has dropped several pounds, in what seems all by itself. And then you notice that all those clothes that were fitting are way too big. Best wishes! It was not right away for me, but one day I noticed it happened, too!

I Caught A Glimpse....
kll724 replied to HotButterFly's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
But wait when you catch a glimpse of your new self in the overhead at Target, or the like, and don't recognize its you! It happened to me, and same day my daughter couldn't find me in the aisle at the store becasue she did not recognize me either. Best wishes, it will happen and soon! -
Sounds real good. My surgeon has us go on 2 days clear liquids after a fill, so this might be an alternative after a fill, too. Hot and sour soup helped me survive clear liquid weeks.

When they told me I had lost enough or too much, I just said okay, thanks for your opinion. "no, I am no sick!" Best wishes to your personal goal. Karen

Any Happy Bandsters Out There With 5 or More Years Of Banding?
kll724 replied to NeenBand's topic in WLS Veteran's Forum
Well said carolinagirl! 9.5 years before she decided to change, means it worked for her for 9 years. If she was a yoyo weight person, like me, she would be real happy that it worked for that long! I am happy with my band, because it doesn't allow me to over eat. I can eat the wrong things, but that is not the bands fault! Karen -
What time do you need to stop eating at night?
kll724 replied to AudreeS's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I can't eat after certain hours either. I can usually drink later than 8, but if I eat, it will cause coughing and some reflux of acid during the night. By the way, I have had 2 slips, and the lst one I had to have a revision to my band. I now have had to have a small amount removed, which took care of most reflux problems. Karen -
He probably meant it is a joke, but it came out unusually cruel! Many people just don't think before opening their mouths. we have all, well most of us, have been in the situation of "open mouth, insert foot". As others said, you need to rise above these folks! Bless you and welcome to the banded life! Karen

Sounds lie a great time. congrats on a wonderful weekend!

You ladies have done magnificent. I tried not telling people that I had surgery because I didn't want people to think I took the easy way out. At 1st, only family knew, then wait staff, because I would cut my meal in half to go home. Soon, hubby would tell other people because he was proud of me. A lot of people do not remember me being 255 lbs. My grandchildren see pictures of grandma, and they don't know me! Anyway, just wanted to say, I lost weight for ME!!Best wishes and share with those you want to and not with those you don't. By the way, got my surgery at 61. By then, I had probably gained and lost over 1000 lbs during my 40 years of yoyo dieting! Best wishes, Karen
