New Here -- So many questions / concerns
kll724 replied to debbie813's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Welcome! I guess hairloss was not a major concern for me. My daughter had a lot of hairloss, and she has "skinny" hair anyway. I think that depending on your style, a good cut is essential. I had long hair, when I 1st started losing, and then had it cut into a bob, above my shoulders, which I have worn for the last 2 1/2 years. Best wishes, and once again, welcome to the site! -
I had a lot of other hostess cakes that appealed to me more than twinkies! But, I can't say that I would want one anyway. Won't be any coming into the houses of my family members; everyone is gluten free!

I don't know if you do chains when you take them out to eat. Many of the chains now have 1/2 meals. Bonefish, Outback, Grillsmith all have 1/2 meals. I think that the Darden chains are going that way too! (Red Lobster, Olive Garden, etc). I, usually, eat like Cheznoel said, I order an appetizer and make that my meal. Folks won't question if they see you order even just an appetizer. Best wishes and stay strong! Karen

If you think you are too tight, you probably are. Try having .5 cc taken out to see if that is what you need to kick start your weightloss. Best wishes!

First time with a troublesome fill
kll724 replied to ametcalf1217's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Absolutely, even .5 fill you can feel the difference. I had to have .1 taken out and it made a big differnce in my comfort and what I could eat. -

Just keep on keeping on! Follow your surgeon's food restrictions, and walking is good exercise, too! -

Woohoo! farmgirl04! I like the results that you got from your ladies at the store. That in itself is a great NSV!!!!! -
still see a fat person in mirror
kll724 replied to farmgirl04's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Me too! And I have been around 8 or 10 for 2 1/2 years, still see a fat lady! I say wow, she is thin, and my husband will say, well your butt is about the same! Hah! -
Sounds good, I hope that it works out for you! (pun intended)!!
-
It sounds like you may have gone to "red", but if you can get even, .1 or .2 cc backed off, you will probably be "green". As b-52 says, it is a fine line. I had .1 cc taken out and what a difference it made in me how and what I was able to eat. Best wishes

how do you know if you band is leaking???
kll724 replied to bonmah77's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
My surgeon takes the fluid out before he fills, so he knows how much is there. If yours doesn't, ask! -
Sounds ok and good! I usually only had the bread served at restaurants. Now, I don't eat that becsue I am staying away from gluten. But, if your band can tolerate it, and its not an addiction, have it for treats!

Wow! Looking good! You will turn heads in a good way! -
I totally agree with lellow! Maintaining is hard! I gained but am now stable and doctor is happy, I am not! But I can't get a fill because I can't tolerate anything more than what I have, so it's diet or not lose for me! I guess I have to except size 10 not 8! Oh well, at least its not where i was before lapband!

Throwing up gray gelatin like substance PLZ HELP!
kll724 replied to sophiamckenna's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Congrats to you! Best wishes! -
Don't think so! If you have a stuck episode, try either pineapple juice or coke. Both work about the same. If I use them, I drink them warm. It only takes a couple ounces to relieve, or upchuck the stuck thing. Good luck to anyone who has a stuck episode!

I could not get mine to stay away! She went to college 100 miles from home, and drove home very week end! She came home if she was ill, she needed mom,. She came home for Halloween, 'cause it was a favorite! I wanted her to become more involved in school, she wanted home! It was hardest when I became an empty nester! Both my kids moved from Maryland to Nebraska for school, then I felt lost. this was in the 1990's. I installed a 800# in their home to call them! HAHA!!!
