Heart burn/gas feeling in throat/chest
kll724 replied to sabrelouise's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Yup, like Nana said. Try gas-x tabs that melt on your tongue, and walk as much as you can bear. I walked in the house when I was by myself, and outside when I had someone to walk with. Best wishes. Karen -
I agree, quit smoking! It is a good time now! Try having something warm to start the morning. Don't over do whatever you have, but you need to break your fast!

Dust myself off and try again....

Good for you! Pull up your big girl panties, dust yourself off, you can do it! As jessiquoi said, you haven't gained, so you need to get back to the losing mode! -
How many of you corrected prediabetes and lowered your blood pressure with the lap band?
kll724 replied to Lori123's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I took blood pressure meds for years, My highest dosage was 40 ml a day. After surgery, took 2.5 ml and now, I take nothing. My pressure at the last appointment was 127/75. Karen -
Old bandsters....enough weight loss?
kll724 replied to MoniqueD's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Heh! Monique, I had my lapband done on Oct 30, 2009. You have done marvelously. We have basiaclly the same weightlosses. I know that I had to move away from those Starbucks Double Tall Carmel Macchiato. I was drinking them iced. I am dairy free at this point, so I drink my own iced coffee with non-dairy creamer. Not the same, but it wil have to do! Best wishes, I hope that you get your answer. Karen -
Freaked myself out by reading Negative experiences. Give me the truth, please.

Just scanned(as I am too lazy to read whole articles). Seems like he is pretty pro-lapband. Thanks, Nana Here is the link http://www.yourdocto...> -turn-around/ -

Thanks Jim1967, I too, had my misgivings about the band. My niece chose the gastric bypass as she, being a nurse, felt it was the thing for her.I did not want the problems that come with that. I wanted a tool that would make me the responsible one for my weightlosses. I can lose weight on my own, but breaking the habits of regaining is the hardest for me. even with lapband, one can regain, if they are not careful. I have had a revision, but would not be persuaded that the lapband is not greatest! If you do followups, as you should and advise the surgeon if you have problems, you should/could be fine! Karen -

I just checked your profile. After 50 lbs, someone should notice. Put on a new dress or pants and strut your stuff! Best wishes! -
I think that it is just like having your surgery again. I had a revision back 2 years ago come this October, and I had to go through the whole healing all over again. Best wishes, Karen

I think this last fill is too tight, should I wait? Will it "loosen?"
kll724 replied to Iwatawood's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
My surgeon says clear liquids for 48 hrs, and full liquids 48 hrs. Try to stay on liquids for another day. If no relief by Monday, call your surgeon's ofc. Best wishes. -
Is it bad that i can feel it?
kll724 replied to 3mommy's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I can feel mine and find it a comfort, too! Mine used to stick out when I got into the pool! -

Sounds like a great 1st apt. And, wise surgeon, too! -
I agree with parisshel. I would wait until after your vacation

I think as long as its your pool, and there is no chance of getting infections or passing stuff to others, you can probably swim when your incisions heal. Ask your surgeon.
-
Don't remember, but I might have gained a pound or two!
-
You don't have to feel guilty, you have tool but you did the work, too! I never met goal when on WW or any other weightloss plan. But with lapband I did. I don't feel guilty, you should not either!
