what happens if I throw up a lot the day of surgery?
kll724 replied to scarletlaj's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Tell your anesthesiologist, I did, and they gave me something to prevent the vomiting! Best wishes, Karen -
woohoo! That is a great NSV if it is really a scale victory, too! Awesome!

Cant we all just get along ?!
kll724 replied to Adrienne21's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Thanks b-52! You are a great example of someone who has found his way and doesn't feel that he is a n expert except for his own band! Thanks for your 2cents, friend! Karen -

You are so right. However, before I got a fill, I ate a small piece of pizza, and then went into the bathroom, because it decided it did not want to be there!(pizza, that is), sorry to offend! -

Well said addrienne, and Joanne is right, if I don't like someone's blog, I either delete, or don't bother! -
Absolutely right Mis73. Mine was similar to yours.

Battling nausea after surgery
kll724 replied to Kelli1016's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Best wishes! I did not have that problem with my last surgery, as I advised my anesthesiologist that I get nauseated from it, and he gave me a drip to prevent it. -
Isn't that funny, my daughter and I have told her my grand daughter that for years. She will want to eat, but she will really be thirsty! She still has trouble distinguishing the difference. I think that we, as adults have that problem, too! I think that I will go get myself a drink!

Congrats, great NSV!

This is weird.. I can eat
kll724 replied to bandedUpSylvie's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Yes, as jean said, you must learn not to guzzle. Sip and small drinks are your friend. Guzzling is not! I agree, if you have not seen a nutritionist, see one who can advise you on eating for lapbanders. You probably spent way too much money to hurt your band and your health! Good luck. My 2 cents worth! -
Nice, big difference! Congrats on your losses!

Interesting Coincidence or Did Band Eating Contribute to Gluten Intolerance?
kll724 replied to stateofzen's topic in WLS Veteran's Forum
I, also, have gluten intolerance. I have, always, liked bread, but when I stayed away, I was "better". But, when I started to eat them again, I was like, I can't get enough! Anyway, I am not allergic, but my son has celiac and my grandson has allergies. So, we try to stay away from gluten. Now, there are plenty of alternatives. My opinion, I think that a lot of people with IBS, are gluten intolerant! Best wishes, I hope that you can feel better, soon! -
You are doing fantastic, just think, you are only 26 lbs from goal and it less than a year! , As you lose, it gets tougher to lose the last 25 lbs, I think! Best wishes, and it will happen. Karen

Too tight? Or is this typical?
kll724 replied to Wanna-Be-Healthy's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Maryland, or Atlantic shore crabs are great! But, I only eat crab cakes. I am in Florida, and have not had a decent crab cake in 7 years, since moving from Maryland! Now, I hijacked the thread! -
I totally agree with all the comments, enjoy yourself, and don't stress it out!

Some bands can never tolerate those foods. My band is fairly lose and I can't tolerate most salads, the lettuce does not go down easily. I can't eat chicken breast without something to make it less dry. I agree with Nana! -

That was pretty ignorant! Mine has never leaked in almost 4 years. I am glad to read that you are cancer free, Joanne M Holl! -

Congratulations, keep on going, you look great! -
Maybe you have a virus, or maybe you have a slip. Call your surgeon's office in the morning.
