Help! For all you lovely people who are familiar with Florida!
kll724 replied to Madam Reverie's topic in The Lounge
Sorry, live in Florida, but central Florida. I have visited Destin/Ft Walton area twice. Nice place to visit. I really liked swimming in the Gulf. I had lived in Maryland, near the Eastern Shore of Atlantic Ocean, the Water in Atlantic Ocean is colder than the Gulf. I hope that you enjoy your vacation to Florida Gulf Coast. -

I agree, I am not sure if we lapbanders are being over powered, of if there is something that Alex needs to look at in options! Good to see you B-52.

How did you first learn about weight loss surgery?
kll724 replied to Alex Brecher's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
A very heavy lady at church in Maryland back in early 2000's lost a lot of weight. I think she had gastric bypass, which was not for me. I later, after moving to Florida< met a young girl who went o Mexico to have lapband surgery and she looked fantastic. So, that enticed both my daughter and I to investigate lapband surgery. The rest is history!! -

Happy Memorial Day!
kll724 replied to Alex Brecher's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
Thanks Alex. I just got back from church. I sing in the choir and we had a great turnout to sing Memorial Day Songs! It was a great day to commemorate Memorial day. Picnic and swimming this afternoon! -

Welcome Rivergal14, I am Karen(kll724). I have been banded since 2009. I, also, know someone who went to Mexico and lost all the excess weight and never looked back. i am not that girl! I have had 2 slips, and had to have my band revised. The last two years have been a struggle for me, as I seem to not ever lose any weight since the revision. I am hanging on, and would be glad to be your friend. i can't mentor, because i have trouble too. I have gained weight but not all the weight back. I love sweets and peanut butter!!! There I said it! Hang in there, and join us for us for a talk, when you like. Karen

I refuse to answer for the fact I may incriminate myself! I confess to being a coffee drinker. I waited approximately 2 weeks, I had to have coffee to function! check with your doctor!

I had bought some of this too, I tried it, it is too cardboardy for my lapband!

Following my surgery, within 6 months, I was having a small bowl of oatmeal for breakfast with skim milk. When I am traveling, rather than having my usual smoothy, that is my go to food. At home, I tend to have my smoothy. But, I don't think there is a problem with oatmeal. My surgeon's office recommends Cream of Wheat in the full liquids part of the healing!

HELP ! 13 days post and Im eating tooo much
kll724 replied to mizz_sleeved's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
It doesn't sound like you are eating too much if you are eating 3 cups of soup all day! Calm down, if you feel that you are doing something wrong, call you surgeon's office. 4 lbs in 13 days sounds awesome, goodness, it is not magic, phoof! the weight is off forever! You are in the healing stage, so don't worry, so much, just follow your surgeon's restrictions. Best wishes, welcome to your new life! -
Been sick all week. I went for a walk this am with my son. (we both are on the sickish side still) and we both got done about 40 mins in, we have to walk back to the house and after 45 mins, we were both faint and finished! Hopefully will be able to do more further into the weekend! Have a great Memorial Day weekend.
