kll724 replied to amsaw's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
What the others said. My surgeon was happy with any loss. I remember losing like maybe 1-2 lbs most months. -

Looking good Jim and Kelly! Even layered clothes are huge! Jim, my wedding ring was a 6, I had it cutoff about 23 years ago. i had it fixed for my personal Christmas present last year. It hasn't been off since. (replacement ring now I wear on my middle finger of my right hand). -
Reference! Great reference from NaNa in success with band.
kll724 replied to Essence33's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Great idea, NaNA. That was my 1st impression when reading it, too! -
Best wishes, just let your surgeon know if you are too tight!
-
Best wishes. My port turned over a little after losing 100 lbs. I might have to go for smaller port, but if I get no fill(since I can't tolerate more than 5, and have 5), I see no reason to do so.

Stuck ALL the time.... Stress??
kll724 replied to finallytime's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Glad to hear that you are trying to get back on track! -
Best wishes to you all! I tend to associate most of the problems with wheat and the by-products of same. But, even if you are not allergic or celiac, you might have intolerance for it. Our wheat is bad in the USA, because it has been so cleaned up. Best wishes to all sufferers!

53 lbs Down Since July 2013
kll724 replied to fashionstylist's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
Congrats, you are doing great! -
Donna, please try Truvia, it is natural. My son-in-law is very affected by aspartame. He gets bad headaches, and other problems. studies are not always as accurate as people are. Sorry, missy, don't want to start a debate here. But, if this problem just started, it is so worth a try to get off something and try something else! best wishes!

Congrats, mine is coming up on Oct 30. How are you doing?

Best wishes to you newbies! Sounds as if you are doing great. Dufflings, please don't pick up your little ones. It can be big damage to you! Just keep sipping, you don't need to try drinking a glass of water right away, sip, sip sip!!!! -
Shopping for birthday outfit!
kll724 replied to Kathytej's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
You go girlie! The fun part for me was knowing that someone else was going to wear my pretty outfit and say"Aww, you look good girl!" -
fee139, I can answer for b-52. That is a "soft signal". It sounds like you are getting to know your band real good. Another "soft signal"is a small burp. So, best of luck at finding your sweet spot, it sounds like you are on your way!

 glad to hear that you are on the mend!

Stuck ALL the time.... Stress??
kll724 replied to finallytime's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Sorry for your loss, (((hugs))) to you! Stress, as others said, can cause your band to tighten. But, now that you have been having this problem and constantly vomiting, you are probably swollen too. Hopefully, your Monday appt will help you. Best wishes. -
I usually do a smoothy, too. But, I start with coffee. I have eaten breakfast; when I did, it was usually hot cereal. If you can't stomach that, then I would stick to a nice smoothy with protein and fruit added. PS: Fill in your profile. What is your bandiversary date? I will have been banded 4 years on Oct. 30. I am too far north. My surgeon is Grossbard, he is in the Tampa area. I can't tell you his prices, because I have insurance and Medicare. -

Great story! But if they didn't hide out and get stuck, we would like to have them around too much! Sorry for your ordeal! -
Best wishes, don't get too tight, tho'!

It is worth it! I lost 100 lbs and eat to live, not live to eat. i maintain and at 65 am happy and healthier than I was for 20 years. I lived a yoyo life, also. I was on blood pressure mends, cholesterol meds, others. I am off all meds except vitamins, now!

Have not lost not even one pound since my surgery
kll724 replied to Aylani07's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I agree with b-52. I did not lose weight my 1st visit. I have never had these huge weightlosses that so many have in one month. I think that I lost 5 at the most. But, I lost 100 by my 1 1/2 years. I will celebrate my 4th year next week. It can happen for you, but you need to follow your surgeon's plan and not worry! Best wishes.
