Just had a fill and still over eating
kll724 replied to ashleym_rosario's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Take it easy! You are probably fine, but try to eat like tmf said, don't eat until you are full, only until you are no longer hungry! Karen..aka..kll724 -

Yahoo! You are soon on your way! Merry Christmas, and have a great surgery day on Thursday. My biggest suggestion is to get up and walk ASAP!!It helps to move the gas and to just plane heal. Karen...aka..kll724 -

Post-op diet (first 4 weeks)
kll724 replied to MrsDucky's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I followed my surgeon's plan! Since you came home with one, I suggest hat you try to follow it. You probably can tolerate other\ foods, but since you are healing, you should stick to the plan. Best wishes, Karen..aka.kll724 -
I eat very little breads, rice, Pasta. They, for me, are not band friendly. I have had a couple sandwiches since lapband, they are not good for me or my band! Others have given you their menu, I have nothing to add. Best wishes, Karen..aka.kll724

Bets wishes, read some of the other topics under the same forum you posted in. There are quite a few woman that have had similar problems and gotten pregnant after lapband! Best wishes for your future. Karen..aka.kll724

20 days out and not losing?
kll724 replied to kandj2005's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I, too, felt like a failure for the 1st couple months. I went back for my check up, they said you are doing great, 4 lbs in a month! That is 1 pound a week. It is equal to 52 lbs in a year! Now, that should make you feel better. But, truly, after healing and exercise, the weight will start to come off. I remember that I bought a dress at Easter(my surgery was Oct 30, 2009), wore it once, and then went to put it back on, it was like a wrap around! Cheer up, this is something new, a new way of life! Best wishes, Karen..aka..kll724 -

I know it is huge to say just don't buy it! i love dark chocolate! I had to give away my Halloween candy that I was snacking on. The people at my church were most appreciative! You can start over! The new year is coming, it is a great time! call you surgeon's office, if you need a fill. Maybe you just need to talk to someone, like the nutritionist. Most of the surgeon's have a specialist on staff. I had to restart, too. I joined myfitnesspal, and log my foods, calories, and exercise. I have met goal, can't tolerate further fill, so I had to "press restart" and just do it! Best wishes for a Happy New year. Karen..aka..kll724 -
LOL! Hang in there!

I like that I can borrow or lend clothes to my "normal, or perhaps underweight, daughter-in-law. And how everyone thinks that we are mother/daughter instead of inlaws!

Best wishes, sorry that you have that problem. I know, many surgeon's offices take credit cards. Good advice above! Karen..aka.kll724 I had my surgery on Oct 30, 2009!

Well, I have had a slip! Usually they are caused by being too tight and foods getting stuck, so that you have to have many episodes of pb'ing, which causes swelling! You might not know you have a slip, but you would know that something is not right! Best wishes, and welcome to our site! Karen..aka.kll724

I, too, found that eating too late cause my acid reflux. But, your stuck episode sounds like it started your swelling. How soon after the fill did you try eating? and what did you try to eat? I, and many others, can't do sandwiches with bread. Also, beef seems to be a bugger for many of us, too! Try a day or so of liquids, and see if that helps, if not call your surgeon tomorrow! Best wishes, Karen.aka..kll724

Well, it is not a Christmas movie, but I watched the stage production, with Carrie Underwood, of "Sound of Music" last night. I am a musical lover, it was great. I am sorry to all the people who can't appreciate a new production of an old Broadway show! As far as Chrismas movies, I like the old, black and white, Christmas Carol! Karen..aka.kll724

Quitting smoking before surgery, good or bad idea?
kll724 replied to Wendydarling19's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I went cold turkey on New Years eve 23:40 (military time) 1984. It was the best thing, my husband joined me! I don't know how hard it will be to quit during your pre-op, or post-op. But the sooner you quit, the better for your health, healing, etc... Plus many hospitals don't allow smoking on their grounds. Best wishes. Good luck in the upcoming New Year! Karen..aka..kll724 -
I think Special K makes a Protein that you can add to Water. You just need to work on sipping. Try some beef or chicken broth, too! don't guzzle anything, it is hard to do 8 oz at a time! Best wishes. Karen..aka.kll724

kll724 replied to WshfullyShrnkng's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Funny thing is I have done that to her. I told her I would give her some of my old scrubs and then this last time I visited her she asked if I brought the scrubs that were too tight on me...and I said no! I'm giving you my ones that are too big. and she said oh that's right. haha. Guess what shes getting this Christmas...all my oversized scrubs that I can't wear anymore...shes wanted them for months now. familys can be crazy!! Good for you! You sound like you, mom and dad all handle gramma just right! Give her your scrubs!!!Serves her right!Merry Christmas! Karen..aka.kll724 -
