My surgeon says 2 days clear and 2 days full liquids, so if you are still swollen, it is pretty normal. You said that you can get liquids and mushies. I agree with the others to wait and see. best wishes, Happy New Year. Karen..aka..kll724

horrible couple of weeks

Mea culpa, Mea culpa, mea maxima culpa! Okay, you are forgiven. Now, sounds like you have started anew. So happy new you in the New Year. Karen..aka.kll724 -
And due to the band, you are more likely to pb than to truly vomit. Vomiting can and will cause slippage, I am not sure that pb'ing will. But any questions like this should be addressed to your surgeon's office. Happy New year. Karen..aka.kll724

20 days out and not losing?
kll724 replied to kandj2005's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Thanks tmf! Happy New Year everyone! -
Best wishes, as others have said, just because you have a slip, doe not mean the band is ruined! I had to have a surgery for band revision, it did not need to be replaced. I am good now, 2 years ago, I was too tight, too! As others have said, you need to be your own advocate. I wish you best luck and hope that you can recover something, if you decide to sue. Hello Everyone! What's your diet consist of?
kll724 replied to WshfullyShrnkng's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Karen I am with you on the Maryland crab cakes. My fathers family was from Cambridge and my Aunt used to make the best crab cakes. I remember her sitting at the table with a bushel of crabs and clean and pick them all. Then there was heaven when she got done. I am a crab cake snob! I have tried Florida crab cakes, they claim are "Maryland" crab cakes, no way!! -
New person welcome?

I'm a newbie too! I've had the surgeon consult, dietitian visit, and psych eval. All paperwork was submitted to insurance on 12/19/13 so I'm waiting for response to see if it will be covered. I started a low calorie diet 1 week ago and I've lost 7 lbs! The founder of this site published a book that I highly recommend. It's called The Big Book on the Lapband. Has lots of info on all stages of the process. Good luck to you. I'm happy to be 1 of your buddies as so far I've been mostly reading posts. It will be nice to share our journeys. I am in "The Big Book on the Lapband". -
I think that it sounds like the better part of valor for you to stay away today sicne surgery was only 10 days ago. Maybe the next time will be your time to shine! Cheer on your team from home this year. best wishes, Karen..aka.kll724

think i'm close to green, could use some feedback!
kll724 replied to jennmang1's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
You sound pretty green to me! If you wanted a slight tweak next month to try, it might be okay. I am at 5 cc, in my 10 cc band, 5.3 was too much for me. But, I did have to try a tweak to see, and then had to have it taken back out. SO, I am one who wouldhave to say, if you want to try a little bit, it would be up to you. But you sound pretty green to me! Best wishes for a happy and healthy new year. Karen..aka..kll724 -
NO, but reached goal 2 years ago. I just enjoyed buying cute clothes from a "regular: store and my husband ws a clothes pusher. Glad because previously he was a food pusher! Congrats on the cute outfit! Karen..aka..kll724

Hello Everyone! What's your diet consist of?
kll724 replied to WshfullyShrnkng's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I eat a lot of fish! Never used to but like it now more than ever. I don't eat other seafood, as I am form Maryland, and living in Florida, and spoiled for Maryland crab cakes. Other seafood is too hard for me to digest or chewup! I eat very little red meat, but do eat some poultry too. Had turkey for both Thanksgiving or Christmas. I don't like breasts to much as they are too dry, so if it is not a special occasion, I usually stay away from it too. Basically, I am a boring eater, now! I tend to do only certain veggies such as broccoli crowns, cauliflower crowns, asparagus crowns, baked Beans, or peas. I like nuts but don't eat too many as I do LIKE them too much! I eat very little carbs, because tend to fill up on my Protein. I hope that helps! As I said, I am a boring eater, now! Karen...aka..kll724 -

What to expect when you're expecting?
kll724 replied to dink007's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Most surgeons won't allow swimming, even in your own personal pool until your wounds are completely healed. I was going to the gym much earlier than swimming in my pool. If you are using a pool at the gum, or the Y, you might have to wait even longer as they are full of other peoples germs, even if cleaned everyday! Sorry to burst you balloon, you will probably have to use other exercise for awhile, but as always, check with your own surgeon!!Karen..aka..kll724 PS: I was going to refer you to the pregnant after lapband forum!!! -
Ricksgal, you have come to the right place to get remotivated! There are newbies and oldsters on this site. Are you exercising, and watching your carb intake? Most of us, when we are filled properly, can't eat many carbs, and are filed and satisfied with our 4 oz of Protein and veggies. If you have not visited your sugeon's foccie recently for a fill and discussion with the nutritionist, do so. Happy New year and new start, this is the starting point! Karen..aka..kll724 >>>>please fill in your profile, too!!

I would hate to try diagnose you, but see your surgeon. It could be reflux, or you might be having a gall bladder attack. Best wishes, if you are having this often, it might not be something to foo around with!! Karen..aka...kll724

kll724 replied to tlbutler's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
God be with you both at the passing of your loved ones! Congrats to you both for not giving into the temptation to eat thru your emotions. tbutler, you have done an amazing job! Congrats on breaking into onderland! Best wishes to you both for happy and healthy New Year! Karen...aka..kll724 -
It sounds to me like you need an underwire with pushup! I can't use that myself, I am all skin and fall out! I tried wearing what the woman at Victoria Secrets measured me at, and I don't like the look at all, I was all squished up.( I went 1 size up after being measured for 34, I went to 36), I have since gone back to a full figure bra as these old girls fit better with more material around them! I feel much better and they don't fall out! Can't recommend those "ahhh bars"" they appear to be sport bras and are not for everyone as they say they are. But, you do need to go to someplace like VC to be measured properly! Best wishes, and happy hunting! Karen..aka..kll724
