I,also, had 2 weeks liquids only diet! The main thing to remember, when you are liquids only, liquids in, and usually liquids out! Best wishes, Karen..aka..kll724

Yes, what B-52 said. Never start any new exercise without your surgeon's okay! I think, actually, it may be too early to lift weights, unless you mean the hand wights of 5-10 lbs. Karen..aka.kll724

Hi, welcome aboard. This is a great way to start the new year. It is a big step, but remember that we all start with baby steps. And swimming is one stroke at a time! Best wishes, Karen..aka.kll724 -
Also, follow the plan that your surgeon's office will give you for guidelines. My surgeon was must more stringent in his food choices than most. We could not use cottage cheese until we were on stage 3, but many surgeon's allow it on stage2. I used a lot of canned meat, and even went so far as to use some babyfood instead of pureeing my veggies. Well best wishes, hopefully you get some ideas from these post. Karen..aka.kll724

Nice, take it easy at the gym, if you are a newbie to it. Looks liek your surgery was quite awhile ago, so I shouldn't have to advise you to take care on certain machines. But, anyway, congrats and happy workout! Karen..aka.kll724

How about some mindfulness training? When I first started back on real food after my surgery I did some eating with the clock. My little fork up to my mouth with a bite then putting down the fork, taking my hand away. So hard for me to let go of that utensil! Pick it up at thirty seconds -- empty -- to the mouth, feel the sensation of the fork on the lips, then put it back down again. Finally at one minute another bite. This was to teach me what a bite a minute feels like and to get me to slow down. I probably need to practice this again as I'm trying to learn my body's signals for satiety. Also, as Bandista stated, "her little fork". For a while after surgery or to train myself, I used a toddler utensils. If you don't have them, try the ones plastic ones that come from carryout! I still use a salad plate and the small forks(salad) that come with my silverware. Just having these makes one mindful of the size of food going into their mouths. Karen..aka.kll724

I,also, love the fact that I can feel cold things going through my chest, now! !! When I am stuck, I drink room temperature, coke, or pineapple juice. Cold doesn't seem to make me feel better! Just my $.02!!Karen.aka..kll724

I seldom use on the go foods, but when I know I can't stop to eat, I carry a smoothie that I have made to sip on. The other people have given you good choices, tho'. I, also, like to have apple slices and Peanut Butter dip. Karen..aka.kll724
