Help Please... So hungry I am sick...
kll724 replied to Jenny'sjourney's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Absolutely, me too! I still look at some of the commercial, 1st in amazement on how much they think people eat. Then I sometimes want some of it too! Olive Garden is one that makes me drool! pizza places are killers, too! -
Oh god! slipped off the pre - op wagon!
kll724 replied to rosieposie88's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My daughter had a friend who also had the lapband surgery. she used to take her kids for fries, and then lick the paper wrapper! -
Made me grin, ! that was so me the 1st winter after weight loss. Actually, in air conditioning, etc. I was always cold. our body will adjust, we humans can do that! i can sit mostly, now, without a blanket, and I don't "have" to have a sweater all the time. But, my hubby and I keep the air conditioning on 78/79 during the summer, and heat at 75/76 during the "winter" in Florida. Karen..aka.kll724

Just wanting to say hello
kll724 replied to MestizaBander's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Welcome and best wishes for a successful surgery and recovery! Karen..aka.kll724 -
Sometimes it is easier to swallow warm than cold. I still have trouble swallowing cold, too early in the day. Make sure that you are not trying to guzzle, just sip everything right now. Honestly, never heard of the lump-free plan. Best wishes, Karen..aka.kll724

Is it normal to have no PBing and no sliming.
kll724 replied to bluegudren's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Usually sliming comes with pb, but pb doesn't necessarily come with sliming! Sliming is when you get too much mucus from being stuck and it has no where to go, (it will sometimes come out forcibly)! Pb is when food come up like vomiting in your mouth but more! Hope that helps, Karen..aka.kll724 PS: these folks who have never pb'd or slimed are very lucky! -
I see that you have lost 23 lbs, tho' You might gain a little after coming off liquid diet and then starting the gym. You are building muscles if you are working out that much. don't get discouraged! Back away from teh scale for awhile. You might start seeing NSV'S( those are non-scale victories). Are your clothes fitting better? are you able to bend over to tie your shoes? etc. Karen..aka..kll724

Failed Lap Band after 7 years
kll724 replied to Chris Olney's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I think that everyone has answered your questions. I just want to wish you best of luck. Getting back on track can be tricky. As b-52 said, maybe just a slight fill will help. Karen..aka.kll724 -
I agree, take this time to train yourself using smaller plates, eating utensils and portions. while I was on the 6 month plan, I started using dessert size plates and the smaller forks. when you use a smaller plate, you don't feel like you are being cheated out of food as the smaller plate is filled. Best wishes. Karen..aka.kll724

I've Got Questions, You've Got Answers
kll724 replied to HotButterFly's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I do not agree. If you are slimming from so little you probably need a slight unfill. three weeks is to long to wait for a fill to settle. You should check with your own surgeon's office. If you wait until 1/21, and are stil having trouble, let the surgeon know. Karen..aka.kll724 -
First Stuck - Still feeling sick
kll724 replied to kimk1999's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I like your surgeon's office suggestion. It is important to stay on liquids for a day after stuck because you are swollen from being stuck and pb'ing. Take it easy, your surgeon may have put in a starter fill. Bread is hard for us to digest because it is so soft and doughy! Take care, Kare..aka.kll724 -
Good for you! Personally, I can't tolerate anything above 5 cc! Karen..aka.kll724

You should not wait for 4 months to decide you are too tight! if food and drink doesn't go down, you should get a slight unfill. Too tight is worse than not enough. Soon with too tight, we either learn to eat around with sliders, o we end up in the hospital with dehydration. Please be careful and call for an unfill if necessary. karen...aka..kll724

For all newbies, NSV= non-scale victory! We reward ourselves with them when we get a compliment, can bend over to tie our shoes, cross out knees or anything that we weren't able to do previous to losing weight! So, it is a non-scale victory!!! Congrats to all newbies and everyone else who gets one! Karen..aka..kll724
