2 week pre op diet - I'm starving!
kll724 replied to dnunzo51's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Good for you, will power( I often call it won't power) is the key to the whole thing. You can do it! And, yes, I also, lived for the boullion, loved beef. Hang in there. -
Are you close to "onederland"
kll724 replied to brat7169's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Thinneranniesoon, Congrats...That is an exciting thing to get into size 14. My stomach is still too flabby for size 14 jeans. But, I did buy size 14 with a elastic waste. I am also, in a 38 bra. I have treated myself to Victoria secret at Christmas. They are almost too big. My husband is happy, he always wanted me to loose. I weighed at 189.8 this morning. I go for "official" weigh in on Wed. PS:My daughter had her surgery, too, and she got into her 14 jeans. So, she would be awfully disappointed if I did, too! -

Happy birthday, and here's hoping onederland is here! Many happy days ahead. -
Too much water is unhealthy. There was a woman that died last year from drinking too much. She was part of a radio contest. Be careful. Sorry, for the downer.

I, actually, did not notice, my Dr. did. He, also, has had Lapband surgery, as well as many of his office staff. I am sort of bouncing now between 190 and 187. I guess, I bought my 1st size 14 dress. Which, as others said, was exciting to buy in the misses and petite instead of woman's. Good luck to all folks who are near their "onederland". Karen:thumbup: -
It is hard, I think I am a chocaholic! I try my best, but sometimes it gets me in the stomach. Haha! Anyway, you (and I) have to decide that we can do it. I have lost about 65 lbs, total. Only lost about 20 since surgery. My mind still thinks of food. My Dr thought hat last month I did so well in 5 weeks, loosing 8 lbs, that he did not give me another fill in Jan. I am ready for a fill next month. It is very hard to keep myself on a diet, without a lot of restriction. Good luck on the 22nd. You can do it, especially with teh help of the folks on this website! :rolleyes2:

What foods consistently give you trouble?
kll724 replied to Roxyrannem's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I can't eat roast beef, angel hair pasta, or cole slaw. They have each made me slime, and then pb. But, I haven't tried rice of any sort, and eat only french bread or baguettes toasted. I can eat salad with no problem. Good luck, you will just have to try, try again with foods. -
Good for you! I know it is hard work. You are right about the Wii. But, I like the fact that they weigh you in, and then keep track of your progress. Good luck!

You look great. Are you sure that you are the same woman as in the 1st picture? You look younger and very sure of yourself. Congratulations. I want to be like you when I am nearer my 9 months. I am only 3 months out. Great job! Karen

Hello Barb, You sound like you are doing fine. Good luck to you. I have been banded since 10/30/2009. I have only lost 16 pounds since I was banded. But, my Dr is very proud of my loss. I lost 8 pounds since my 1st fill 5 weeks ago. He did not fill me today. He was surprised that my 3.3 cc fill did so well. Best of luck to you. Karen

Glad to meet you. I was born in North Dakota, but moved to Maryland in 1967. I lived there until 2006. I now live in Florida. SO, kind of reverse from you. I still have many family member sin Minn/North Dakota are. I am sorry, I will never go back North. I do not like cold, snow, and ice. I had my surgery on Oct. 30; and had my 1st and only fill so far, at the beginning of Dec. I have restriction, but get hungry too! Good luck with your journey. Karen

6mo supervised weight loss - how much did you lose?
kll724 replied to LuuLuu's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was on the 6 month supervised weight loss from April until October. I lost 40 pounds. I had first gone to a nutritionist who guided my diet. She suggested using only a salad plate to eat off. It is surprising what a difference that makes to your head. Your mind really starts to think of a full plate as all you need. And a full plate at salad size is only about 1/2 of dinner plate size. Anyway, good luck. It is not easy, but helpful that the doctor monitors you. -
Congrats, Karen, I hold you and Phyl up as examples to follow. I am finally below 190. It may have been because I was sick and didn't eat on Thursday. But, I consider anything as a plus! Karen, you aught to be proud of being asked to be in a show. Wow, I would love for my Dr to ask me when I loose my weight. He and about 1/2 his office have gone through Lapband surgery. They are there own models. Winter is highly overrated! I am in Florida, I moved because I didn't like cold, ice and snow. We might get all 3 this weekend.

I still enjoy my "cream of wheat" for breakfast. It was the most "solid" food that was allowed on my full liquid diet. It tides me over for about 3 1/2 to 4 hours. I am completely satisfied and I don't get any PBs from it. It might be a slider, but I eat it slowly, and, as I said it sticks with me.:smile2:

Hi Everyone, Special shout out to Karen. My friend had her fallen bladder operation in Oct. She is doing marvelously. She said it was the best thing she did for herself. I take detrol-la. I am not ready for another surgery, right now. My lapband was only at the end of Oct. Anyway, good luck to you. I don't go to movies, but "Its Complicated', and "avatar" look good. I will wait for them to come to DVD. It is so quickly, now. Happy New Year to all. Kll724

Hurray for you! I can't wait until I am down 78 lbs. I, also, can't wait until I break the 180's. It has been 20 years since I was in the 180's. My husband and I are hitting the gym 1x a day; he is talking about 2x a day, now. I am happy that I have been a postivie influence on his behavior, too. The gp had asked him if he was going to have the operation, too. He is afraid of being "put under". But, at least he has gotten up off the couch. Have a great Christmas, everone.

Had surgery friday the 18th of december and im feeling awful
kll724 replied to ssweettoya's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My experience is that you must be following your doctors orders of nothing but clear liquids. I bet you are drinking beef broth. It did that to me. In fact, the liquid diet kept me going, a lot. It will improve once you are taking something other than clear liquids. I found that I looked at it as a cleaning out time! Good luck on your journey. -

Sending you sunshine and clear skies form Florida. Snow and winter is one of the reasons I moved to Florida 3 years ago. I used to live in the Washington, DC area. When it snowed there, everything stopped. They closed the museums today, and stopped public transportation. Most of the museums only close for Christmas Day. Not this weekend, they are closed all weekend,. BOO! Anyway, do-overs for your birthday are good. But, next year will be better, because you will feel great! Good luck, hope you feel better.:smile2: -

Hi Folks, I went to my grandchildren's Christmas Concert tonight. They had a pizza party afterward. I tried pizza, it was good. It was, also, my 1st case of major PBs. I wanted to die. I did not die, but will not try pizza again anytime soon. If you can eat it and not get sick. More power to you. Not me. It smelled so good. My husband is trying to make me feel better by telling me it wasn't very good. -
Good for you. You are doing great. Keep up the hard work, you have every right to be PROUD of yourself. Have a happy and healthy New Year, best wishes for less of you next year! Karen:thumbup:

Wow, exciting! I just hit a goal, too. I got my 1st fill, and the Dr. congratulated me on being under 200. I haven't been this low in 20 years. :thumbup:Yeah for you and me. Karen

Hi, Just got back from my Dr apt. I got my 1st fill. He was reluctant to give to me as he said I am doing so well. And he, also, said to me, "When was the last time you were under 200 lbs?" I said about 20 years ago. He said in his experience, when women gets under 200, they stop counting weight and start counting sizes. I told him I had bought my 1st thing in the misses dept the other day. I admit, it felt real good. I am on clear liquid for 2 days, adn then all liquid for 2 days. I must admit, I had a 5 calorie gelatin, and it filled me up.
