My LAP-BAND?? Advertisement!! Photo shoot was 2 months ago...i

Very nice, what a compliment for you to be in an add!
  2. That's exactly what I am praying for, a healing without further surgery. I don't like the fact that I have no restriction, either. Best of luck for both of us. I am about 1 1/2 weeks ahead of you on healing. Karen(kll724)
  3. Well, I had 3 bags from my closet. One was for the church thrift shop,(better things). The other two was for the Salvation Army. Tuned out that we had a family that lost everything at our church, so...all donations went to the church who will give some to the family. I am happy that the woman will be able to wear my leftovers. She will get many things that I wore for 1 season, or not at all. I* am thankful for the chance to help someone in need. Karen(kll724).
  4. I currently have nothing in my band. I tried the 1/2 cc, and 2 cc. It did nothing, so the surgeon has removed it all. I can eat/drink anything and when my month is done, I will have the surgeon replace around 1 -2 cc as I have NO restriction and have gained back some of the weight that had dropped off in a week(5 lbs). I was just like you, could not eat or drink anything! Good luck:cursing:. Karen (kll724) PS:believe me you will enjoy the lack of restriction for a few weeks!!!!

    New 60+ Thread

Have a great drive, it is a long way from Ny to Ca. I hope the weather is good, it ha been a little scary thru the mid west the last few days. I am doing okay, the weather here is Central Florida is still hot during the day, but evenings are getting much nicer. The snow birds will be back before we know it. We get a lot of folks from the New England states and Canada. Our church population almost doubles in the Fall/Winter months. I still have no restriction, so am having to watch my calorie intake. I think that in October, I will ask for a slight refill. I can tell when I have had enough, so I guess I have a little restriction, but can eat anything. I have gained about 1 to 1 1/2 lbs from my lowest. Yuck!!!But it was below my goal weight. Love to ya'll, and take care traveling. Karen (kll724)
  6. Congrats, the struggle is definitely worth it!

    I've Hit Onderland!!!!

Woohoo! Congrats to you, best wishes for future losses!
  8. You can get some inexpensive, nice dresses and blouses from Goodwill. I donate to Salvation Army and buy from Goodwill. Now, I have some dresses from Goodwill that are too big. I don't feel too bad about getting rid of them as I only paid less than $10.00 for them! They are from the"better" or designer section. I thought that I would try taking in some, too. But, not so good at doing it. Its a lot of work. Good luck for you.
  9. I, also, make my drink like this, but I don't use reduced fat peanut butter as it has more sugar in it. But, love the banana/pb taste, yummy! Karen(kll724)
  10. Cute idea. I, also, gave away what I could to folks who wanted them The rest, I donated to Salvation Army, or the woman's center at my church. (I choose Salvation Army over Goodwill, as I shop Goodwill). Anyway, I find I have to get rid of the old, and don't want the temptation of being able to let myself go, because I have old clothes that will fit if I do!

I am real excited. I ate dinner tonight, for the 1st time in awhile. We went to a diner for fish. I, unfortunately, had no restriction. But, kept myself to a light meal. It was wonderful!! I had catfish, some cole slaw,a few fries and 1 hush puppy. I am totally satisfied. I think, that I will eat one real meal a day. I will have a shake for breakfast, with fruit added, and a boost for lunch. That should keep me below/near calories and also provide my protein. My new life as a bander at goal will not be as easy as I would like, but I am looking forward to it. Here's to the rest of my life!!!!I hope to be able to maintain for several years, like others on the forum, with your'll help, I think I am in good shape. Love all of you for your support. Karen(kll724).

christaO, don't let em scare you off. I am totally pleased with my weight loss. I am just not a chewer, I guess. So I did a lot of pb'ing, but didn't have a problem until July, after 9 months of weight loss.

Hi Ya'll, Those are great pictures, and it is great that the 2 of you got to meet. Hey, I am here near Orlando, Fl, anyone coming down for the winter? Well today, I am finally not in the overweight column anymore. I, also, hit the 100 lb loss mark. But.....The bad news is, I had to have everything taken out of my band, as I have a possible slip. I was unable to eat/drink or get anything to stay down. So, for a month, I am empty. The surgeon is hoping that I will have no further trbl, or he will have to do some more surgery....So, I hit the mark on default. Now, have to keep weight loss. Hope you all have a good week. Hump day, and all. Karen (kll724).
  15. Haha! Me too! I have noticed that chairs are harder, even car seats get me to bouncing around after a short time. But, I would not trade this feeling, my butt has almost disappeared.

    Lap band and bras

Me too! Make sure it still fits right. If mine are getting too loose, it is uncomfortable. But only then..
  18. My official date in Oct.30, 2009. I consider myself a Nov. bandster. I was a size 18/20 w, now a size 8 misses. I was a size 44dd, now a size 34 d. Karen(kll724).

    Vomiting question

Actually, my surgeon suggests that if you get then stomach flu, you have all the fluid removed until the flu is gone. As was said by the op, productive burping(vomiting mucus and the like), is different, and you get no stomach fluid with this pb'ing.

Gosh, Phyl, I don't envy that trip. That is a long ride. Are you taking time to enjoy the scenery? I loved the USA ride across Washington to Montana into North Dakota. There is a lot more to admire in that part of the country than taking interstate 40 across Kansas/ Indiana..etc. I have never ridden the whole way from Washington to New York, but staying north, you get some gorgeous country. I hope that RV riding in comfortable. How long do you all drive per day? Keep in touch. Karen (KLL724)
  21. Actually, had 5.5 cc's. Surgeon removed .2 at my request in June. Met goal (surgery was 10/30/09) August 11. He removed 1.3cc's at my request for maintenance. So, have about 3.5,now, 10 months out.

Didn't want to discourage my daughter, who has loss less than me. I gave her my 12's today. They were real sloppy on me, but fit her good. My husband encouraged me to do so. She joked and said, I don't have the blouses to match, so I went home and grabbed 2 from my closet and gave those to her, also. I haven't offered dresses or most of my blouses as we are built a little different. I need to find a tailor for my jeans, as they we only wore 1 or 2 times. I hope that it encourages her. Also, she told me she wants to go back to seeing the original surgeon, not the skinny fellow who hasn't had lapband surgery. I don't blame her, that is why I see the surgeon who had lapband surgery, he is most understanding, and encouraging! happy Sunday, ya'll.Karen (kll724).

Hey 50 & over gang We have a new spot

Not me, but I do find that even placing something I am carrying wher I normally would have on my chest/stomach, I have to move it because the port is uncomfortable. SO I have to carry with my arms, or not at all.

Hi Sandi, I just read your story. You are a beautiful Lady. You have an awe inspiring story, I only hope that 4 years out, I can say the same! I haven't written mine down, but can tell you, I met goal this week. Surgeon had me way tight, could not eat anything. But, he has now removed 1 1/2 cc's. I can eat and drink again. Now, I am scared of my new life, trying to maintain. But, reading your story and others like you, I feel braver. Thanks again. Karen (kll724).
