Hi Shante, I am in Lakeland, Fl. I went to Dr. Grossbard in Zephyrhills. His group is Pasco Surgical Associates, Florida Obesity Surgical Associates. Love him and his office. I don't know anything about using Tricare, but I am sure that there office has any information you would need. If you are interested, feel free to private message me. Karen(kll724).

kll724 replied to IndioGirl55's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Hi Lisa, welcome to our group. I am going into my year. I was banded on Oct.30,2009. In fact, until I wrote that, I was not even aware a year was almost gone! Yeah me! I met goal about 2 months ago. Now I am in maintenance, which to my point of view, is harder. Good luck to you. Karen(kll724). -

Good for you, I. also, hated my fat clothes. I have gone through my closet like 3-4x since staring on my journey. Some things had only been worn one time. But, I am sure that someone will put them to good use. You found that out when you had your yardsale. Congrats on your weight loss journey, best of luck to everyone! Karen(kll724) -

I mix my vanilla protein with banana and peanut butter. It adds extra protein and gives it yummy flavor.

I love my Osterizer. And some Walmarts carry small personal size attachments for making smoothies. I did buy it at walmart, not sure what I paid, but I am sure it was well under $100.00. -
God bless and let your surgeons hand be touched by Him. Good luck, Karen (kll724)

Hi all, Surgeon rechecked my band, today. The placement looked fine under floroscope. So, he replaced some of my fill. I asked for 1 cc, I think he put 2 1/4. He said if I start pb'ing again, I should call him. He doesn't think I should loose anymore, but I don't want to gain, either. I am happy with my loss, and if I do lose a 1lb or 2, it wouldn't be so bad. Loving life, now. Karen (kll724)

Oh, I absolutely agree. Overheard my surgeon telling a teacher who was saying that flu is going around her school. ""If you get the flu, come here and have the fluid removed, because productive burping is different than vomiting!" Vomiting will cause the problem that you mentioned. I am going through a slippage problem, where I had all my fill removed. I am due back to dr on Oct.6, and am hoping to have a slight fill put back in. Good luck in your healing. Karen(kll724)

Anyone have a Xpress Redi-Set-Go Cooker?
kll724 replied to Manda87's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
My husband, finally, used his Xpress redi-go today. He used it for making meatballs. The meatballs cooked without frying, and were delish! They were just about the best I have ever had. -

My husband bought 4. He thought that when they asked how many, and he said 2, he would get 2. But, it was buy 1, get the 2nd one, so we now have 4. Christmas presents, I guess. Have not tried it yet. I haven't seen the commercial. -

Welcome playermimi, we are nice group here. We are all in various stages of weight loss. Many off us have never been successful before. I, also, have a conservative surgeon. I did get my 1st fill at 6 weeks, because I wasn't loosing. It is a learning curve. But, with the help of your surgeon's office and this site, you can do it too! Best of luck!

My size 8 denim jumpsuit shorts look good, my daughter said, " your stomach doesn't bulge or anything. And the little belt ties nicely" (my hubby picked them out.) The neighbor men are telling my husband I look good!

Wow! you are doing great. I lost 35 lbs on my 6month pre-diet and then didn't loose but 1-2 lbs a month. But, in May-July the lbs fell off, and so did the inches. Then I started to get stuck all the time, so I had to have everything taken out. I am in maintenance now. I must tell you, I have never, ever, met goal on weight loss before. YOU can do it, too! Good luck.
