NSV, my favorite so far.
kll724 replied to SoccerMomma73's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
You go Phran! I guess the best thing that happened to me, was that the 2 neighbor men told my husband that I was looking good. And, I met a lady the other day that said that my hair cut looked perfect for me. She had no idea that I had lost 100 lbs, until I told her. Well, she said that and your hair cut make you look great. -

What will you do with you "fat" clothes
kll724 replied to wanna.b.healthy's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
YOU can do it! Focus on the future, as you said. Yesterday was my 1st bandaversary, and I did it. I am now in maintenance, believe me, loving life, and clothes shopping. Good luck to you, too! Karen(kll724):wink2: -

How long before your shoe size changed?
kll724 replied to bayareanan's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Well, I previously wore 8w. I was shopping during the summer, and still had to buy 8w, after loosing 100 lbs. But, a few weeks ago, I needed to wear shoes for a funeral. (I mostly wear sandals, as I live in Florida). My shoes kept flip/flopping on my feet at the wake. The morning of the funeral, I went shopping. I bought 7 1/2 mediums. Wow! what a wake up that was. Now, I need to replace most of my shoes, even the strappy sandals. So, basically, I think the change happens for most of us at different times, just as the change in clothing size does. Great thread. Eating is becoming a pain in the arse!!!
kll724 replied to thequeensfool's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I, usually, use my protein drink for breakfast around 9 or 10am. It is the only way for me to get my proteins in. I make it full of protein as I add peanut butter to it, too. I, also, have a hard time deciding what's for lunch and dinner. I can't do salads, they make me stuck. Good luck. I sometimes just want to do protein drinks and V8 juice!! Karen(kll724) -
Reduced fill feeling after overfilled feeling?
kll724 replied to Curlycat3's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I had the same response when I had my fill removed, but had to have all removed before I could eat/drink. Feel good that you still have something in there. It does feel great to loose quickly, but knowing that you did it because you couldn't eat anything is not good. My husband became upset because I had reflux all night, too! -
Welcome to our group, Grams. I know that you are in the "bandster hell" part of your trip. The 1st few weeks before your 1st fill are frustrating, I think I held steady or gained a lb. I did have some restriction tho'. I remember having a bad episode before my 1st fill. pizza was a bad experience, also, tried to eat a small beef on a bun. Both caused horrible problems. Let yourself heal properly. Most roast is not my friend, even today after a year. Welcome again. Karen(kll724)

What colour are your scars?
kll724 replied to WrenBird's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I will be 1 year on Oct 30. I just checked, my scars are barely visible, they are light pink and pretty much match my skin color. I think yours hould fade too. :smile2:Karen(kll724) -
Wow! congrats, you have lost a lot in a very short time. You should reach your goal in no time.

I told my husband what a cheap date I would be if we went to "White Castle". He used to buy a bag, now, I probably would eat 1/2 of one. HaHa!!! By the way, just the name sliders make me cringe. They sound like they must be full of grease to slide down!!

Hey 50 & over gang We have a new spot
kll724 replied to IndioGirl55's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Not me, Llyra, but just wanted to wish yu good health. The thyroid problems are scary to me, as is any health issue. But, as you said, it may also help on the weight loss, which is a great side effect. Best wishes. Karen(kll724) -

kll724 replied to IndioGirl55's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Well, I am retired, so no problem there. But, others, it all depends, who and how close a friend they are. Some who have asked, I just say, dieting or thank you for noticing my weight loss. Others, I have confided in. Good luck on your decision of whom you want to tell or whom you do not want to confide in. It is,after all, no ones business. KAren(kll724). -
How sad for you:frown:. I hope that you can get back on track with a new fill and all. I HATE physician assistants. They all think they know better than we do about our bodies. The surgeon is the only one that has ever filled me. Good luck. Kll724

Help! I need an older bander for advice!
kll724 replied to jlball's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Yes, that is exactly how I hit my century mark. I have since gained back about 6 lbs, but that was because I was actually not getting anything to stay down. I hoe that your apt tomorrow will give you some relieve. Good luck. That is the good part, but please believe me when I say, I was so relieved to have the pressure removed from my fill, and it was 3 months old. I did not think that after 3 months, I would start swelling and not get anything to pass thru my band. I am better now, I have 2 1/4 ccs in my band. Karen(kll724) -
Help! I need an older bander for advice!
kll724 replied to jlball's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I, also, had this problem. The surgeon thought that my band had slipped, he did a total unfill. I was fine, then after a month he checked na I was not slipped. He gave me a partial fill as I was eating everything but the "kitchen sink". I am still a little hungrier than before, but I can eat most everything now, without pain. I can't eat most pastas, however, which is not a great loss! Hang in there, have a slight unfill and see how you do. Karen(kll724). -

You were always pretty, but looking terrific in your new pictures. I was banded Oct 30, always considered myself a November 09 bandster. Good luck on your continued journey. I've had some of your same problems. I had a total unfill to correct them, I am back now with 2 1/4 cc. It is real hard, but I am working thru. Karen(kll724) -
That happened to me with my daughter once, she looked down an isle, and didn't see me. Oops, Mom, didn't recognize you. Funnier still, is looking in the overhead camera when walking into Walmart, and not recognizing yourself, at 1st.

Hi everyone, I had a non-scale victory of mine own last week. I have avoided wearing pantyhose for a several months. I live in Florida, and it is not unusual. I needed t go to a family funeral in the Midwest. So, I checked the weight chart and decided that I could now wear a "B" size in Legg's pantyhose. The last pair I had bought was a Q2. Wow, I was amazed how nicely they fit. I have not worn anything that didn't say "Q' in pantyhose in several years! I am so psyched, I had to share with you. Karen(kll724):w00t:

I still growl alot, usually in church when its nice and quiet. I even growl whe I know I am full. So, I thin kit is just the nature of the "beast". :w00t: -
Wow! Were you in the hospital for 3 days, Arkansas? Some folks stay for 4 hours, I stayed overnight. You must have traced a track into the floor. I walked every hour during the day, and part of the night. You sound like me. I am glad you brought your art supplies, there is just so much daytime TV most folks can stand. Haha! Glad you are back home,(or soon will be) and hope that you feel better. Karen(kll724)
