Help - did I mess up? I drunk a beer.
kll724 replied to DeeTee's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Makes you burp and gives you gas! Also, be careful that you don't over indulge! Once you start loosing weight, your tolerance isn't what it once was. I learned from experiance! Karen -
What about your bras?
kll724 replied to Tired of being Tired's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Me too! My favorite 1st NSV was to go to Victoria's Secret and pick out 2 pretty bras. Like Jachut said, just hand wash and they will be okay! Karen -
Woo Hoo, I just have to brag somewhere.

Used my lap-band card for the first time
kll724 replied to JimR915's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
:DHurray! Have only had to mention lapband once because as a senior they don't thin twice about sharing. -
I would wait. My surgeon has me on liquids for 4 days after a fill. 2 days are clear liquids, 2 days are full liquids. So, since you are probably swollen from the fill, I would wait and see, since you can feel the coffee going down!

Is Early Twenties too young for the lapband?
kll724 replied to PumpkinPanda's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Bless you, and good luck to all you that are taking charge of your life! Keep in mind that you have to work at this but you can do it. Good luck, again, Karen -
Onederland is an amazing place!
kll724 replied to Dave_NW's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Yay! Congrats, Dave. I know that you have worked hard to do this. My own son, is working at it, now. He had his surgery on Aug. 5. He is going for his 1st fill on Wed. He has lost 40 lbs since surgery, but now the losses are slowing. He is quite happy; but, he has 50 lbs to go to be in onederland, and another 20 to go before he is at goal. Good luck to you and to my son, also. Karen -

Flabby arms (brachioplasty)
kll724 replied to Dreamalways07's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
You are very young, your skin still has a lot of elasticity to it. The bat wings will go away with excersise and time. I personally think that your bat wings are temporary, those scars from the operation are not! They are ugly and long, but that my opinion. I would never have it, lots of ladies do! Good luck on your decision. Karen -
I agree, I never used straws for about the 1st 18 months. But,now, I use them a lot. I find that I do sip instead of gulp my fruit smoothies. If I don't use one, I tend to drink too much smoothie at one time. Then. I am unhappy, as I have to wait for the smoothie to go down. Yuck! good luck, Karen

I am 63, and also, do not want PS. I, personally, have never seen anyone's arms that looked good after surgery. Mine look just as good from the front as theirs do. It is the back( where the batwings are) that look bad. Mine have gone down in the last year and 1/2, but are still pretty pronounced. I feel okay, and wear sleeveless or short sleeve anyway. I don't have any advice, but just wanted to co-miserate! Good luck, hope you get your answer! Karen

I agree with TKW, you should be able to tighten up without too much hassle. Just exercise and it should be okay. Be thankful that you are so young and don't have so much to loose. Good luck, Karen

Do you know what I really miss?
kll724 replied to Pinkygirl's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm with you FayFaye, I can't chug anything! I sip all my drinks. I don't know if it is habit, after 20 months, or if it my band. But, I just tried to drink, and I took sips. I have tried larger sips. but still can't chug! Karen -
Congrats to you and your Bandaversery! I have not stopped my blood pressure pill either, but am down from 20 to 5. You can do this goal, it takes the "won't" power that we all have to contend with. I always call it won't power instead of will power, as in I won't eat what I am not supposed to eat! Good luck, Karen

Congrats to you too! You will look great in the wedding pics!

kll724 replied to lisaasil9's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
Hi Lisa, I, too, was banded in Oct. 09. I, too, weighed in teh 240's, I think 244. It is great when you can walk past Lane Bryant, and recycle the "fat lady" catalogs that come in the mail, without looking at them. Congrats on your losses. Keep u the good work, you should be at goal in no time. Karen -
Yeah! But be careful with your rings!

Yay! NSV's are the best! Seeing movement on the scale is great, but getting NSV's compliments are good for the spirit. Congrats, Karen

Help!! Addicted to shopping
kll724 replied to hopetolose's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am a "shopaholic"! There, I said it! Yes, I have taken over my husband's walk-in closet after filling mine up. I never thought that I would become obsessed with shopping. My husband is a "clothes pusher". He used to push food, now he pushes shopping! He will say, "Oh, I see you got a coupon for Bealls." Between the coupons they have online and the "senior Tuesdays", I have filled my closets. I have never been a Gap person, and don't particularly like Targets clothes, either. I guess that I am a Bealls clothes pusher, now! Haha!:blink:Shopaholics of the lapband forum, unite! Karen -
Help!! Addicted to shopping
kll724 replied to hopetolose's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
If you live in Florida, you need to hit Bealls clearance section, shirts can be as low as 1-2 dollars. I know this is how I filled my closets! -
I don't miss my size 3x shirts and slacks! I don't miss being the heaviest person on a 4 person tobaggon.
