not over eating anymore but.....
kll724 replied to glowormvl's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Mine new addiction is clothes shopping! My closet shows it! I guess its better than food. I try to keep away from the stores as much as possible. I think that anyone, and myself included, that has an addictive personality should seek help. Good luck! Karen -
Really hard time drinking
kll724 replied to Kellysue's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Some days I get exta thirsty. But I agree with the other people, I, too, do not seem to be as thirsty as I used to be before lapband. I try to drink my 64 oz, but it seems that here is not enough hours in a day! Good luck on your weight loss. And Kiskis, you have done an amazing job! Karen -
Mine was drained for slippage reasons. I had surgery for a "fix" Oct. 14. I just now had a 3 1/2 c fill, yesterday. I did not have any restriction, like Jachut said. But, it was kind of nice to be able to eat, apples, salad etc, again for a short time. I do envy people who with their lapband can still eat salad and fresh fruit. My only fruit comes from what I put into the blender. Good luck with your unfill, just be careful what you put into your mouth! Karen

IS GETTING "STUCK" NORMAL
kll724 replied to cat lady's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
It seems to be your choice of foods that cause you to get stuck. My surgeon suggests no roast beef, or pork. My very 1st stuck was roast beef, also. And it was NASTY! The worse part was I was at church party, and it just came with a burp. It wouldn't stop and I had to leave with my son. No, it isn't normal, but most folks have iti! Goodluck, Karen -
My surgeon likes to use the floro, too! He, also, put the needle in and had me drink barium to watch it go through. He reduced me from 4 cc to 3 1/2 after he saw the slow drip at 4. I just had revision surgery and had an empty port, so I had no restriction. It will be nice to have restriction when I eat. I told him that I knew I had no restriction, as couldn't eat salad for 2 years, and all of a sudden I could eat lettuce without a problem! Gained a little weight while I was empty, too! Karen

It sounds like you have a slip, caused by your stomach virus. I just had the same problem. I had to have a revision in the hospital. But, when i called my surgeon, he saw me that day, and made an emergency apt t at the hospital to fix my problem. You need to be forceful at the surgeon's office, you need to be seen under floroscope. Don't wait, it is important!!! Good luck, Karen

How does the band feel inside of your body?
kll724 replied to misspostmaster's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I have lost 100 lbs, my face is getting more wrinkles, because when it was fuller, I had less that showed. I don't feel anything but my port. I like the feel of my port, it is reassuring to me! I don't feel anything from the inside. Good luck, Karen -
I second everything on this post! Just be kind, she will need you to just be there and take her for walks down the hall, etc. I, especially, like the advise of spending the night, if that is part of your facilities and insurance companies plan. I did not feel like making my husband do everything for me. And I wanted someone to be able to check on me, at times! Goodluck to her and you. Karen

Can Anyone Share Their Flipped Lap Band Port Experience With Me?
kll724 replied to ms.lady's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am about 3 1/2 weeks post op from revision surgery. I found it a very easy post op. I was up and about, and to the store within 6 hours. I had surgery on Friday, and was to church and singing in the choir on Sunday. The highest scar was an itchy sight. It is the one right at my bra area, and I guess that maybe my underwire irritated it some. i am happy with my revision. My surgeon found that my slip wasn't as bad as he expected and did not have to remove the band. My only problem is that I have little restriction at this time. I am going in on Wed for a fill. Good luck on your surgery! Karen -
3rd times the charm??
kll724 replied to BaileyRose's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Oh my, you have a wonderful attitude! I just had a revision, myself. Thank God, no complications, no removal of band, etc. I feel great, except, I have no restriction. that should be taken care of on Wed. You keep your spirits up! With your attitude and a great surgeon, you will come out on the right side of weight loss! Good luck! Karen -
