You got it! Praying now! I hated the empty time, too! I new that I had nothing in my band after my surgery, because I could eat salads, and raw fruit. I had not been able to eat either for 2 years since band placement. I now have 3.45 cc and am not sure that I have much restriction. bui I am going on a cruise and then returning right before Thanksgiving. So, I was not wanting to be too tight. Anyway, doing okay, just having trouble controlling my appetite. I find that I needed to increase my excersise program to keep from eating all the time. Good luck, Karen

Hi, Yes, I had a slip and repair on Oct 14, 2011. I came through with flying colors! The surgery is not as bad as the original. Maybe, because I knew what to expect. But the gas was not like the 1st, and the surgeon used the old scar areas to operate. My problem came from a bout of stomach virus and excess vomiting. I, too, had the problems that you describe. Wow! You had your surgery 10 years ago. I am so happy for you! You should be fine after surgery. My slip was bad, but the surgeon only had to readjust the position. He thought he might have to remove and replace. Yeah! He did not. Good luck! By the way, I am 63 years young, and getting younger everyday!!!! Karen

I agree, I have been doing only walking. Mostly I walk outside, I get bored on a tread mill. But, even when I tread mill, I mostly just walk. However, this morning when I went for a walk, by myself, I jogged for about 5 minutes in 3 times. I walked about 1 hr 15 mins, not sure how far. I feel real good, and my legs do feel like jelly! I hope that I can get up to jog at least 15 mins at a time. But, just walking and lapband, I lost 100 lbs. Good luck on your journey to a new life, everyone! Karen

Wow! You are so young, and I know that what you are doing is for your health. Maybe he is scared, because he married you and loves you as you are. I agree, remind him that he will have his wife longer, if you loose your extra weight. Counseling does sound like is in order. Most lapband surgery comes with a requirement for a psych eval. He needs to go with you for this, too! Good luck and God bless you both! Karen

Is this what the Green Zone FEELS like?
kll724 replied to highland's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I am very happy to hear that you are doing well. Green zone, good; red zone, not good! Good luck on your journey to onederland! Karen -
Usually, in my experience, when you start solids, you will be able to eat your protein, and then some veggies. I think that the best thing I did at that stage was to use a small dessert or salad plate and salad fork. I made sure that my meal fit on that plate and ate no more than would fit on that plate. Until you have a fill YOU will have to make sure that you don't overeat. Good luck. Karen

It is supposed to be "Follow you surgeon's orders"! My surgeon is quite conservative. He recommends 2 weeks clear, 2 weeks full liquids and then soft. He says cottage chesse is not considered liquids. My son started his journey in August, he lifts 70 lbs at a time at work. So, he needs to keep up his strength. He has been very successful, and has lost 65 lbs since his surgery. You too can do it, but you need to be motivated! He took his $1000.00 suit to be altered. The seamstress said, sorry, can't do, it is too much, we would have to totally remake your suit. He was sort of heart broken, but he has dropped from a size 56 to a size 44 and is still loosing. Good luck to you!! Keep trudging along. Karen

I just had slippage. I had surgery 4 days after my appointment, so I was on liquids until surgery. Good luck, I really don't have a good answer, but call your surgeon's office for your answer. They may want you to wait for a few days, and then eat normally, but you can't be sure unless you talk to them! Karen

weight loss after 2 years
kll724 replied to Dseyfried's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Yes, an interesting observation. I, also, am just over 2 years. I am maintaining, but had a slippage and a repositioning operation. I was completely empty, which I found tough. I was able to eat salad and raw fruit, which I hadn't had in 2 years. I, now, have 3 1/2 cc and do get a full feeling. Probably I will not get another fill unless I find a weight gain when I have an apt in 2 months. Karen -
Problems with weight loss after gallbladder removal??
kll724 replied to kaninag's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I had my gallbladder removed back in 2001. Since having my lapband, I have lost 100 lbs. So, I guess, my answer is no. Goodluck with you, tho'.Karen -
I Have A 102.5 Fever . My Lap Band Surgery Was 10-25-2011
kll724 replied to Stacy_Jean's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Call your surgeon's office, ASAP. You sound as if you have gotten an infection of some sort. 102 fever in an adult is bad, especially after surgery. Good Luck, Karen -
Is this what the Green Zone FEELS like?
kll724 replied to highland's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I think that, maybe, you are a slight over filled. I would ask your surgeon's office to take off 1/2 a cc. I will bet that will do the trick and put you in the green zone for sure. You should be able to drink normally and, by now, eat a meal. Good luck, Karen -
Wow! Good for you! That is an amazing weight loss, keep up the good work! Karen

I have found popcorn is okay for me, but need to stay away from kernals that have not completely popped. I stick to the white part of the popcorn, only. Good luck if you like, Karen

100+ Positive Reasons to get the Lapband and outcomes

I just thought of one! Being able to get into and out of the restroom stall without straddling the commode! That to me was major victory at some of the smaller stalls! -
Living Will Before Surgery
kll724 replied to RaleighGal's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Yes, I did make a living will, I found a template, and tweaked it some. I did not make a new one when I had my latest surgery for a revision, but the hospital asked if I had one. You do what makes you feel comfortable, but remember, this is major surgery, and they put you all the way under with life support. Good luck, Karen -

Who's has experienced a New NSV Lately ?
kll724 replied to 54Shirley's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Congrats to all the NSV's. The main thing I noticed lately, is not such a NSV as a oh goodness. But I had to be unfilled recently, and gained a few lbs. But, what I noticed is when you are fat, the few lbs don't show quickly on your clothes. When you are in a small top and size 8's, a few lbs make a BIG difference! I noticed it, and so did my daughter. Haha! I now know that I will have to watch my eating in order to stay in the small sizes. It makes a big difference, quickly!!! Karen -
Eating and drinking I couldn't do it if I wanted to - I am too full!
kll724 replied to Kiskis's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I don't see a problem with this, it sounds like you are doing well. Good going and good luck. Karen
