kll724 replied to LosingItAll's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Congratulations for reaching that goal. It is amazing when the scale starts with a 1, instead of a 2. You are doing great. Keep on and you will succeed. Karen -
I agree, the 1st time I had a drink, after banding, I was semi-high with only one margarita!

Thanks for your advice, Jacqui, I always learn from you! After 2 years, I still find your advice valuable, Karen

How To Know When You Are Full
kll724 replied to jackie1981's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I, also, hiccup. And I feel a fullness, at the top of my stomach; I guess that is the top of the tube. Once, I experience that feeling, I stop eating. If I don't, there could be a bad experience following! Karen -

Thanksgiving With The Lap Band
kll724 replied to helen098's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
This is my 3rd Thanksgiving, also. I did fine, until trying to eat a late dinner. I haven't had much restriction lately, so I was not noticing when I swallowed too big a piece of turkey. That was it for me! I had to visit my friend "ralph" in the restroom. This was my 1st experience since having my band readjusted in Oct. I only have 3 1/2 cc in my band.now. Karen -
Anyone Else Have Nighttime Reflux Coughing Or Vomitting?
kll724 replied to Bekah_GA's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I had slippage, too! But did not have the band removed. The surgeon repaired my band and I now have 3 1/2 cc in it. I am at peace with my band. I have no more nighttime coughing, spitting up etc. Loving my band again. Karen -
The 60s -- the greatest decade to grow up in!
kll724 replied to SassySenior's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
HI Folks, Well today is Thanksgiving day! I am thankful that I have a nation that is Free to give thanks anyway we want to. Some people will spend their day in line to be the 1st to shop on Black Friday. I will start my day by attending church to thank the Lord for this day. Then, I will have dinner with my family and be thankful that we have food to share. Then, we will watch football on our 60" screen and one again be thankful for plenty! Thank you to all our servicemen and women and patriots who have kept us free for so many years! Pearl Harbor attack, JFK's assassination, the Challenger blowing up, and 9/11, all the other times our country has been challenged show than when this country is at its lowest point, it is the strongest! Happy Thanksgiving to everyone! -
Congrats! You have done awesome! Best wishes for your future! Karen

I do remember that day, also. For a person going through that, it is hard to forget. Just as we will never forget where we were when "The Towers" were attacked! Anyway, I was in my history class, of all places. School was, also, dismissed, but I don't remember if we had buses. I do remember that I did my regular babysitting job, and watched the TV for days following! Karen -

Lap Band Completely Unfilled :-(
kll724 replied to extraonme's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Good luck, I had an unfill , due to a slip on Oct 14. I had a hard time, and had a fill of 3 1/2 cc before going on a cruise. Otherwise, he was going to wait until Nov. 23, that's right the day before Thanksgiving! So, I guess, consider yourself lucky, you can eat normally. Just stick to small plates, and salads, protein, etc., like you are used to doing. You might gain, a little, but you will be okay. I am sure. Karen -
I knew where mine was, because that was where the big incision was. But, did NOT feel the port until after I was filled for the 1st time. You are okay, I am sure. Calm down! Karen

kll724 replied to BlueTattoo's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Wow, 115 to 125 is small, but I am 63 years old. My face is already getting like I could use a lift; not going to happen. 140 is where I was for years before I gained 100 lbs!!! Since my surgery, I lost that 100lbs. One again, good luck Karen -

Good luck, and best wishes. I am,also, 5'3" and feel your pain! 140 is a good size for us. I wear a size 8 and everyone says I look good. I just got through with my 1st cruise and was able to pick up a size "m" cruise dress and NOT try it on, and it fit perfectly! So, good luck, and once again, best wishes! Karen -
