    What If I Get This!!!!!!

My surgeon advises an unfill for teachers during stomach virus time at their school. Getting sick with stomach virus can cause a slip. I know because I had one just in October. Good luck and best wishes for getting past stomach virus season. Karen

WOW! my hero!Nancylee219. You are doing great, and I ma glad to hear that basicly, you are never too old for lapband surgery. I had mine done at 61. I am happy to be at goal, something I have never achieved on any other diet. Good luck to you both. Karen

    Not For The Weak!

Congrats to you B-52! But there are so many of us like livingmydreams! 1st off, I am at goal, but find maintenance hard! I have my lapband at 3 1/2 currently, due to a slip and surgery in Oct. I intend to ask the surgeon to raise it to 4 cc next week. I have enjoyed this 3 1/2; I have been able to eat ,almost, normally. I had not had salad in 2 years, but, can eat a small bit now. I am, also, not loosing and gained a few lbs. Not good! So, I will have it tightened and life goes on! Good luck to all, and happy life! Karen
  5. I hear the same thing! I have lost 100lbs, but I am just into now not being overweight. I have"fluff"as my grandson says. It is mostly in my stomach and my chin. My granddaughter suggested that I could get plastic surgery on my neck, so I can look younger, too! Haha! Good luck to us all. Karen
  6. Hurrah! You can do it, and you have! Keep up with the good work, you will reach your ultimate goal! Karen
  7. I must say, you Sir, are doing great! I, also, have no regrets, a few problems, but would never have lost 100 lbs without the band. I am one that gets bored with dieting. The lapband makes it easier to stay on track. Goodluck to everyone! Karen
  8. Hurray! You have done fantastic, and you ARE an inspiration for others. Congrats, again. Karen

    Pb's & Stomach Acid

Most PB's would not contain stomach acid because the food hasn't gotten to your stomach yet. That is why it doesn't taste like regular vomit.
  10. Wow, way to go! Congrats and great going! Karen
  11. Now I am not a doctor, or even an expert. But, it seems like you are forcing your band and your stomach to eat too soon. Most of us are on clear liquids for a week after surgery, then full liquids. Cottage cheese and oatmeal are not liquids! I don't remember well, because I had surgery over 2 years ago. But, my son had surgery in August, the surgeon's assistant told him that cottage cheese shouldn't even be eaten at mushy stage. Calm down, follow your surgeon's guide lines to a T and you should be okay! Karen
  12. Congrats, Tracy! Looks like you are getting close to normal BMI ! Way to go!
  13. I agree, I overheard my surgeon telling a teacher that if a stomach virus was running through her school, to come and get an unfill for precautionary purposes! I did have a stomach virus, and ended up with a slip in October. Take care!
  14. Oh, I do agree. I knew I needed lapband to keep me honest. i bore easily with diets. I am at the top of my normal BMI. But, due to slippage, I have 3 1/2 cc in my port. I have been using will power over the holiday to stop eating. My next apt, I am asking for another 1/2 cc. Good luck to all in maintenance and folks still loosing. Karen
  15. I agree, you need to see your surgeon ASAP! I, also, had this problem after a virus. I had a slip and needed surgery to repair it. Not all slips need surgery. Sometimes the surgeon just needs to remove your fill for your band to go back into shape. Good luck. Karen
  16. Yay! And as previously said, walk, walk, walk!!! And stay hydrated, too! Good luck. Karen

Anyone use the LapBand ID card?

Never had a problem. My husband and I share all the time. My daughter and I do too! I can order off the senior menu and still have to take home or share with hubby. I don't like the"children's" menu food. I have never had to use my card. I just advise and they are very accommodating at most places. I do have a card, tho' Karen

    Night Reflux

Please call your surgeon and make an earlier, emergency apt. You could have or cause a slip! I had a slip and had to have everything removed. 15 months later, I had to have surgery to fix and additional slip! Good luck. Karen

    My First Nsv!!!

Well good luck, you can do it.! Congrats on your 1st NSV, there will be more to come, guaranteed! Karen
  22. I think that your goal is possible. It may take a while longer than you wish, but slow and steady it can happen. Good luck, you are doing fantastic already! Karen
  23. Yay! My son, who had surgery in August, lost quickly, too. I think, depending on your age, and being male, you will loose quicker than us, females. He was over 300 an dis now down to 236. The surgeon is very happy with his weight loss. I think he has had 2 fills and goes back on Wed for his weigh-in. You can do it, and don't fret about loosing too quickly. There is a gentleman on here who lost over 100 lbs without getting any fills! Good luck, Karen
