Day 5 Post Lap Band Surgery. What Can We Eat???
kll724 replied to BB12's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Your diet sounds perfect to me for the 1st weeks after banding. Keep up the good work and follow your surgeon's guide line. This is the person that you paid to be responsible to! Sorry, don't want to sound harsh to anyone! Karen -
You'll be okay, I just cruised for the 1st time in November. I have been real loose and then had gained 4 lbs so, today got a fill. I am quite tight, but look better a few lbs thinner. That what the lapband and fills are for though! Good luck. Karen

Now, see, I don't do that. I am an expert at picking my size off the rack. I never could have taken something home without trying it on when I wore plus sizes. I can pick an 8 and take it home and it fits perfectly! I am happy at my size. I hope that I never have to get bigger sizes and with lapband, I should be able to control that problem. You too can get there, good luck! However, 18 months ago, I went through the same thing, my daughter looked down and aisle at the store and did not recognize me, and I did not see that I was as thin as I was. I still don't realize when I am smaller than others, either!

I agree with many of the other people. My biggest fear was that I would be a failure. Now, I am fearing that I will gain it all back! -

kll724 replied to Claud Byron Yeiser's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Good luck to you both. This is a great 1st step. You are young and it is best to catch the problem now! -
Hurray! You are doing great!
-
Woohoo! Cazzy, you are doing marvelous! Karen

I think that you are too tight, also! But do you really want everything taken out? That could be dangerous and start a trend that you might not like. You know that because you are nervous to ask your surgeon. But you can ask for a slight unfill because you are PBing and have GERD. It will relieve both and may be what you are looking for. You don't say how much fill you have, or how much weight you have lost. Good luck, Karen

Gaining Weight..had Lap Band for a year...help!!
kll724 replied to malf's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
hello Malf, I would see your surgeon. It is time for a fill. You should still be loosing, if that is your goal. I know that it is normal to gain some weight after you reach goal and are in maintenance, but if you aren't in maintenance, you need a fill to get yourself back on track! Goo luck, Karen -

Anyone Else Having Trouble With The Holidays and their Lap Band?
kll724 replied to Kellymenefee's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I ate what I wanted, just less of it! I always eat off a small plate, and know just how much I can eat. There are 3 of us with lapband in family of 6 adults. Two of the others need the lapband, too! But, no one gorged themselves this year, it was nice. Try it, you might enjoy it! Karen -
Looking For A Northeast Fl Lap Band Buddy
kll724 replied to pen527's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hi Ladies, I don't meet the requirements, I live in Central Florida, but wanted to say, "Hi" anyway. I just had my 2 year bandiversary in Oct. I, too, struggle with my band and maintenance. I just had a revision after slippage, and now have 3 1/2 cc in my port. I feel I, also, need a fill. I go next week. So, Hello and good luck to you all! Karen -
How Long Was Your Lap Band Surgery Hospital Stay?
kll724 replied to Lanie M's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I had surgery in the AM, and the surgeon said I could go at 5. But, then as my husband was on the way, we live 1 hr away, he said my insurance insisted on an overnight stay. So. I was there about 24 hours. My son, who had surgery in August of this year, stayed for 4 hours after the surgery! So, it depends on your surgeon, and your insurance! Karen -

Stomach Pain - Call My Lap Band Surgeon Or Not ?
kll724 replied to Thundarump's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I, also, saw my surgeon once a month for a year. He still kept me on once month until I hit my goal, now, I see him about every 2-3 months because I am on maintenance. As I get more used to it, I will probably be cut back even more. But definitely call your surgeon's offcie , if you have questions! -
Stomach Pain - Call My Lap Band Surgeon Or Not ?
kll724 replied to Thundarump's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
How long have you had your lapband? It is always okay to call the Dr office!! Are you able to eat/drink? Did you eat/drink something that got stuck? Five days is a long time to be in pain. Good luck, Karen -
What About Lap Band Liquid Diet For People Lactose Intolerant Or Allergic To Dairy And Soy?
kll724 replied to bev712's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My grand daughter really liked Fax milk, but our area stopped carrying it, as the distributor went under. But, I know that in St Pete and Clearwater they still have it, if you are near there. She liked the vanilla, but it also comes original. You could check for that, too! It was sold at Walmart, when we got it. -
We did Vegan for about 15 months back in 1995. It was hard when it came to Thanksgiving. We did make it through though. You just need to stick to eating a lot of beans and nuts. You can now, even order a Vegan"turkey", I can't remember what they call it. But, if you are interested, check online. Also, 7th Day Adventist's websites. Adventists are Vegan or vegetarians, we lived in Washington, DC and they were easily found. Good luck!!!!Karen

Question About The Lap Band ID Card That You Can Get From Allergan
kll724 replied to cakegirl's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I have never had a problem explaining that I have had surgery and need to either share or have a child's menu. I prefer not eating a child menu,a s it usually is not my choice of food. However, on a holiday when I am paying $75.00 a person, I would make that choice easily!!!! -
Lap Band Port Site
kll724 replied to Determined and Ready's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My port grows and shrinks depending on how much fill is in it. At times it feels big and round, right now, I have 3 1/2 cc in it, it is smaller than it was a few months ago. You might, also, feel it more at night while laying down, and I see mine when I am in the swimming pool. It will bulge out then!
