I really like that idea! I, personally, could use that T-t. But, won't get it, not so much because of the cost, but don't want to go through a surgery again! Others, I have seen look great, and I am kind of jealous of the results. Good luck on what you decide. But I agree with your goal, anyway. Karen

Slow Weight Loss After Lap Band Surgery......
kll724 replied to jsea's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Some people do loose slower than others. I lost 100 lbs in the same time my daughter lost 40 lbs. She was so discouraged that she had a metabolism test done. But, all of a sudden she started losing better, too. A not, she was not exercising and I was doing about 30-40 mins walk a day. Walking helps a lot, by the way. Good luck, don't give up on yourself! Should I Go To The Hospital ???? Square shaped Bruise after Lap band Surgery
kll724 replied to 2bSMALLER's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
My last surgery, Oct. 14 I had a black/blue bruise come up about 2-3 weeks afterward. The surgeon saw it and said "You just bruise easily!" Mine, also, did not hurt; it is probably nothing, but keep an eye on it! Karen -
What To Eat In The First 2 Weeks after Lap Band Surgery!
kll724 replied to Abbiewtvr's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
You could use those shots they sell in the convenience store for $1.00. After 2 days, I am surprised that you are drinking protein shakes and not clear liquids, but every surgeon is different. Jello is good, and so is Special K Protein Powder to add to bottles of water. Anyway, try tr follow dr's orders. It makes life and lapband surgery healing alot better. Good luck, Karen -
I really don't think there is a problem after your incision has healed to put something on it. BUt, maybve ohters know better. I would call the office if you have a question though. Good luck, Karen

Interesting, glad you made at least 1. Good luck on the others, especially the Associates Degree! Karen -
Well, since writing on this site, I have had to have corrective surgery. I ended up with a virus, and real vomiting. I had a slippage and had revision. But, the good news is, I have not had to vomit, or forced myself to vomit in over 2 months!!!! You can do it, you may have to loosen your fill, and start over like I did, but you can do it, too! Help! Weird Lap Band Fill Experience -- Normal?
kll724 replied to WhitewolfCO's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
He always removes it 1st, verifies how much is in it, then fills and has me try water, sitting up. At that point he determines if I can swallow it, or if it is not really going down, well. If it seems to be not going down, he will have me go to the flouroscope and see with barium. Then he determines if I am too tight. I am very sensitive, and 5 cc is too tight, but 4 1/2 is okay. -

What Was The Deciding Factor To Finally Lose The Weight?
kll724 replied to kristallynn13's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I have been thinking about an answer as I read your story. I had several factors, maybe one was having to go to the "bigger" bone scanner as the one at this facility only goes to 250. Getting approved for SSI at 61 because I was unable to get up/down and do many other things required of my job. Then feeling like I didn't want to be known at my new church as"that fat lady in the choir" was a big push. Finally, when my daughter's friend had hers done and was smaller than she had ever been all her life, and my daughter was bigger than she had been all her life, we both took the plunge! I had my surgery approx 2 weeks before her, so I could car for her small children while she had hers done. I am, now, 63 and back to what I weighed at 28. I am happy and face each day with a smile into the mirror! Good luck to you and all who read this. Karen -
Good for you. Overcoming any addiction is difficult. As they say in WW, you can cut out a lot, but you need to eat. We just need to learn to eat to live not live to eat. I have 3 family member on this journey with me. It is a little easier. I remember quitting smoking; the 1st thing my husband and I said, was, okay, now we ordered our food what do we do until it gets here! I guess now of days, folks had to learn that too, as can't smoke in most restaurants, anymore. Well, now I have another habit, which is almost as hard to break, it is SHOPPING for myself. And I have an enabler husband! Good luck to you, and Happy Holidays, whichever you celebrate! Karen

Help! Weird Lap Band Fill Experience -- Normal?
kll724 replied to WhitewolfCO's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Always have my needle inserted and then sit up, and stand too, if he needs to see the water go down. Then holding the needle,(he always has me hold it with my right hand), he has me walk over to see it with the flouroscope. It is the only way he can tell if it is too much, or just right! It has never hurt, he deadens it with little spray, before hand. Karen -
Six Years Later....loving My Lap Band
kll724 replied to ChrisC's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
Dear ChrisC, You are definitely an inspiration. I am 2 years out and am happy to be at goal. I thought that I was the only one that has a weight fluctuation. I am still trying to maintain, which I find harder than weight loss! Thank you for your story, you, Alex, and Jachut are probably the longest successful lapbanders on this site. Thanks again. Karen -
2 Days After Lap Band Surgery And I Cant Get Much Down
kll724 replied to tandi04's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Just sip on your drink all day if you have to. Don't be in a big hurry to drink. What kind of shake are you drinking? You probably should be sipping either Protein water(Special K is good), Gatorade, Herbal tea. or anything clear at this stage of your healing! -
Sounds like restriction to me. But if you think that you are too tight, wait a few days, and see if you stil are that way. Karen

Starting Stage 4 Lap Band Diet Soon Need Suggestions Please
kll724 replied to Lola184's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I agree with Xavier, you don't sound like you are taking in enough calories. Yes, you can still drink your protein drink. In fact, they are a good source of protein. It is suggested to loose approx 1-2 lbs a month not a day! I lost about 1-2 a week, and was totally happy. I am now in maintenance stage. If you loose 1 lb a week you will, it is equal to 50 lbs in a year, 2 lbs is 100. Good luck, but yes, you will probably level off your weight loss when you start mushy stage. Karen -
WooHoo! Any NSV with a victory! Yeah you!!!Karen

2 Days After Lap Band Surgery And I Cant Get Much Down
kll724 replied to tandi04's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Just sip, and you will be okay. You don't need to drink 10 oz at a time. 1 or 2 oz is all that you need right after surgery. Your tolerance will build up. Just take care of yourself. For gas, get up and walk, if only around the room! Good luck, Karen -
Hurray for a salad from Taco Bell! That is a great NSV and don't let anyone tell you it isn't! Karen
