Having Issues - Could It Be Slippage? Something Else?
kll724 replied to boyds96's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
It does sounds like a slip. You do need to see your surgeon or bariatric specialist. You.sound like you are ready to get back on track, anyway. Good luck, the New Year is a a good time to start back. Karen -

Question For Bandsters At Or Near Goal Weight
kll724 replied to Caribear's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I, also, can't speak for anyone else. But, I am very happy to be thinner. I am not the smallest I have been my adult life. When I was in my 20's I was a lot smaller; but, I am the smaller now than I was for the last 35 years. I never liked being the "fat lady" and that was my motivation, finally, to do lapband. I have been on every diet you can think of, try predigested protein,Slim fast, and weight watchers, etc. Nothing kept the weight off. This does, especially if you stick to it. No, I never regret having taken the step I took, and do not find it hard to be the thinner lady, now! Good luck, and Happy New Year!! Karen -
Happy bandiversary, and congrats on your losses. I hope the New year brings you all the joy and losses that you are wishing for! Good luck.Karen

Silly Requirement Question..
kll724 replied to texzen123's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
You probably will be okay. During my 6 month supervised diet, the surgeon gave me phen. He did not want me to take any after 6 months, tho'. It, and the nutritionist visit, helped me loose 25-30 lbs. But, not everyone is like that, my son lost 6, because the surgeon did not want him to loose anymore than that, he was borderline BMI. The insurance company wants to make sure that you can follow a plan. Good luck. Karen -
Nsv.. Just In The Nick Of Time
kll724 replied to dixiechick's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Wow! Happy New year to you! It only gets better. My most fun NSV was when my own daughter looked down an aisle for me, while we were shopping, and couldn't find me. I was there, but she didn't see me! Karen -
Help! What Do You Recommend For Bowel Movements After Lap Band Surgery?
kll724 replied to thinspiration's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
milk of magnesia, or magnesia liquid. They both are helpful, and mild enough. Good luck! Karen -
I was allowed to suck on hard candies, I chose sugar free lollipops. They help, too! I don't know your history, but this is kind of the reason that I feel the 6 month dieting helps beforehand. Your stomach has already shrunk somewhat, so you are not quite starving. And when you start eating, you are sued to the smaller plates, and portions. But, good luck, I hope that you survive this "bandster hell".. Karen

Lap Band Surgery Compare To Gallbladder Surgery?????
kll724 replied to kelmelmom24's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I had both done. They were about 8 years apart. I remember a lot of pain after gall bladder surgery and staying in bed. But, I had been very sick from my gall bladder before removal. After lapband surgery, I was up almost immediately, walking around, as they told me if I could, I should walk. In both cases, I was on a liquids diet, the one after gall bladder was not as restrictive as the one after lapband. I, personally, think the lapband is easier, and your life is about to change for the better after surgery!!!!Good luck, Karen -
I, also, use gummies. I tried the liquid but I found it nasty. I use the sublingual B12 , also!

Crazy Question For Women Bandsters....
kll724 replied to kcf101008's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I took a sports bra to the hospital and chose to wear one for a couple weeks afterward. Now, I wear an underwire bra, but don't have any discomfort from it. But, if I sit for a while in the car, I get uncomfortable, just from sitting. I think it is just a part of my banding process. If I get up, or move around, I am fine(and it is not all the time)! After A Lap Band Fill What Do You Eat???
kll724 replied to fofo's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My surgeon says 2 days clear and 2 days full liquids after fills. So he fills on Wed. I can eat real food on Sunday. I only use chewable multi-vitamins and melt in the mouth or very small other vitamins. I don't get heartburn from either of them. -

I Can Eat Everything 7 Days Post Lap Band Surgery, Is This Normal?
kll724 replied to CaroZ's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Yah, That! I have nothing else to add, except be careful, just because you can eat anything, doesn't mean you should! You should be trying to restrict yourself, until you get your 1st fill! -
Hi, Everyone! I'm New To The Lap Band Forums And Recently Banded :-)
kll724 replied to Shellie2011's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Hi Michelle. Happy to have you onboard. I have lost 100 lbs an dam healthier and happier than before. You can do it, if you make the commitment to yourself. It is not a diet, but a new way of life and eating. It is a tool to guiding you; and in my case, stavs of the diet boredom. I usually stopped dieting after 20-40 lbs, and never made goal. Finally, I found something to help me do that! Good luck! Karen -
What To Eat In The First 2 Weeks after Lap Band Surgery!
kll724 replied to Abbiewtvr's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I like it, fine. I mix mine with just bottled water, and it is good. I have only been able to find strawberry/banana, but may come in other flavors. Good luck, looks like it has been 9 days since your surgery, now. Hope that you are doing well! Karen -
Does The Lap Band Eventually Get Filled Up ?
kll724 replied to fatboy-es's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
It all depends, I only have 4 cc in a 10 cc band. Anymore, and I am also in the Red Zone. Others say, they are filled to the max and don't feel restriction. Best of luck, follow your surgeon's guide lines, I am, also, like Jachut, in maintenance but even loosing, I could not go past 5 cc. Karen -
Where Did You Get Your Post Lap Band Eating Plan?
kll724 replied to blueydgrl's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I follow what they say at my surgeon's office. I know others who have followed the 5 day pouch test. But, if you go on here, and search eating plans, you may find something. My nutritionist, also, was helpful. Karen -
Yes, only after seeing it on here, did I realize that it was normal. So, now, I know and have told my son, that that is a sign that you are done eating! Karen
