Am I Going To Lose Friends Over My Lapband?
kll724 replied to NJ2NC's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Well, my 2 cents worth, is if you loose a "friend" because you loose weight, they aren't or weren't much of a friend anyway!!! So good luck, and any online friends you meet here will be supportive of your losses! Karen -

I Need Some Advice From Someone Employed In The Medical Field
kll724 replied to Fishersindy's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
You would be surprised on what the doctors, you work for, think. My sons best friend is a doctor, and he was really pushing him to have the surgery. He said you won't live to be 50 at your rate! He is an Indian. My PPO doctor is from Uraguay, she was, also, all for it. They might be judgemental, but they probably think that you might need help. if you are heavy enough to be approved, then they might have their opinion about your weight too. Give them the benefit of the doubt! Best wishes, Karen -
Coffee gets me through the day! I am 2 1/2 years out, but have drank coffee since about 3 weeks after surgery. I can't function without it! Tea doesn't do it for me.

Any crunchy chip! I limit myself by using a small ramekin to eat them from. I should not have them in the house, but hubby loves them, too!

Only Had One Fill And Sooo Full
kll724 replied to Gizmo29's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Be glad to have restriction so quickly! Make sure that the meat you are eating is very fine. Stay away from dry meats. I eat a lt of fish, and if I eat chicken it is not dry breast meat. Beef and pork are hard to chew up. Take care, and good luck. Karen -
I would venture to say, probably not a slip. However, if you are worried, see you surgeon. Karen

Is Anyone Else This Cold?!?!? Poor Body Temperature Regulation
kll724 replied to khath0620's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Yes, but your body will, eventually, adjust. I am extra cold in air conditioning. In summer, I live in Florida, we keep our air at 78 degrees. In the winter, if we need heat, we still keep it about 75-77. My husband gets cold, too! He likes to wear shorts all year around. I wear sweaters and long pants in winter. Today, it is 40 degrees with a 25 mile wind. I have sweater, jeans, socks and sneakers on. I am good in the house! I keep throws all around on the couch. Good luck, Karen -

Prayers for you and your family! I hope that the New year brings you the joy that you so deservedly need. Happy New year. Karen -
Hi, Laura71 is right. I had repair surgery in Oct. The surgeon thought he might have to remove the lapband and replace it in 2 months. But, he was able to repair it instead. I am doing fine. It takes awhile to get back to restriction after the slip, but finally am and maintaining okay. Good luck and Happy New Year to you! Karen

I had lots when I was heavier. Went from a 44 dd to 36 d. Probably could use 34, but some excess skins bulges when I do. Anyway, used to be real big on top and now, wear same size as my d-i-l who is extra skinny. I am in a small top, too! Hope that helps. Happy New Year. Karen
