I took 1/2 tab during my 6 month manditory doctor monitored weight program. I did pretty good but surgeon did not want me to stay on it longer as the op said, it is addictive! Karen

Oh yea! It is the wonderful feeling of having a scale number that starts with a 1. Many of us look very forward to reaching that amazing goal! I remember when I met that goal and I was so excited as it had been many years since I had seen a number starting with a 1. Good luck to all! Karen

Good luck, mine was infected, also. My pain was in the center and caused me to feel like a hot knife was cutting into me. I had my 1st serious attack after my husband cooked a fresh ham. I wanted to die! It hurt so bad; it was a Sunday, and I had to work. Monday, I went to the dr, and I had emrgency surgery the following Monday. It was, also, infected. I was out for 3 weeks, and when I went back to work, I ended up having a stone in my bile duct, that caused me to end up with pancretitis and jaudice. Don't fool around with it! Good luck, Karen

Discomfort And Aching Left Hand Side Of Stomach And Back..
kll724 replied to jane uk's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
It could be your gall bladder, too! When I was having am attack, it woul dhurt from front to back, like a stabbing feeling. You do need to see your surgeon, ASAP! Karen -
I agree! It is, also, a place where we can relax and know that many people have gone through the same thing as we are experiancing. We can express our pain and happiness and have others understand! Love this web site, visit it daily! Karen

I have no recall on this either, which my surgeon has said is good as it shows that food is loosing its importance in our lives!

What Is Your Goal? And What Would You Do To Get There.
kll724 replied to B-52's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
My goal was to not be the "fat lady" anymore! I have met goal, but falter up/down a bit. I have had some bad experiences, such as a slipped band and resurgery. But, would I have not done this, heck NO! I am not sure what extent I would have gone. I would not have had either a liposuction, nor plastic surgery to look my best. I am not sure that I would have gone through gastric bypass, either. But I am totally settled into my new lifestyle, and will not ever have a problem with not eating steak, pizza or whatever else I can't eat now. But this is me, so others need to make there own decisions on whether they can do it or not! Karen -
Sorry for your experience! I am surgprised that your surgeon did not see this when he had you there the last time. GOod luck, I had my gall bladder out several years ago, but only had lapband 2 1/2 years ago. And, my daughter had her gall baladdder out before her lapband, too, but same surgeon both times. Karen

Wow!!!You are doing great! Congrats! Karen -
Pretty normal to me too! But as the other folks were saying, if you have a problem, call your sugeon's office ASAP!! You should be ok about not seeing the Nut for awhile as my surgoen's office had me on liquids and gave me the guidelines in my paperwork and follow up information packet from the hospital. Karen

I have been there, too! Glad that you were smart enoughtto know that you were overfilled. Good for you, now take cae, my doc recommends that I stay on clear liquids for 2 days and then full liquids for 2 days because you are swollen. That might be a good idea for you, too! Good luck, Karen

Breach Of Contract?
kll724 replied to Michele Reed Stelly's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Good luck in your search, but I don't think that it is breach of contract, as the op said, he will probably fill you for free if you go to Ill. Sorry, Karen -
Should I Or Shouldnt I ?? Help
kll724 replied to krodriguez's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
There is no time like the present. It would be a good idea to start now, eather than wait for it to be urgent to your survival to live. Good luck on your decision; you have already taken the 1st step! Karen -
Disapproval From Others.
kll724 replied to ducker2010's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Thanfully, I have not had anyone say something like this to me! Everyone seems very supportive. If they have an opinion, they have kept any hurtful stuff to themselves. I agree, an unfriend would be good! Best wishes to you and all of us struggling with weight issuses! Karen -
It sounds like you finally have reached restriction! If you can drink, and are not vomitting, you are doing fine. Good luck to you, Karen
-
I agree with Honk, you are on the liquid diet and should stay there. You don't want to ruin a good thing by starting to eat again. It is hard, but many of us have gone through the "tunnel" and made it out the other end! I would not take chances if I were you. But, this is a decision you have to make for yourself. Good luck, Karen

What a great boost for your self esteeem, that is truly a NSV, and you so deserve it! Karen

Does Stress Cause The Band To Tighten
kll724 replied to carolde's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Yes, stress can couse your band to feel tighter and then you might not be able to eat much. If you are also slimming or vomitting, then that will cause you to swell and might cause you, also, to not be able to eat much. Take care, Karen -
How Much On Liquid Stage?
kll724 replied to PixiePower's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
If your provder said it is okay, I would not worry about it. Mine was very strict on what I could have. You are not using a straw are you? I was told no straws. I do use one at times, now, but I am 2 1/2 years out. I think that straws cause you to take in air, and also, drink too fast. I was told I could use skim milk at the clear liquid stage; I was told anything that I could see thru was okay. To curb your muchies, I was told I could use hard candy to suck on, I used "dumdum" lollipops. Everything is supposed to be sugar free, but, a little sugar shouldn't be harmful. Good luck, Karen -
My 1st ever slimming and stuck was on pizza. Be careful! I was not filled yet, and it tasted real good, ate it either too fast, or too much, and it was a disaster!!!But, as otehr say, stick to thin crust, and the crunchier the better; don't have much on it, maybe just cheese and sauce. Good luck. Karen

How Much On Liquid Stage?
kll724 replied to PixiePower's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Wow, PixiePower, when were you banded? Most folks on their 2 weeks ,its clear liquids, and then after that full liquids which would include Slimfast. You can't really overdo the clear liquid stage! You can drink at will, as imost of it is very low calorie and you need to stay hydrated! Good luck to you all. Karen
