Pbing A Lot With Having No Fill Yet
kll724 replied to Iliciia's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I did, the 1st time was on pizza. The 2nd time, I had a small roast beef on a roll. That was the worst ever. I couldn't stop for about 15 mins. I was at a anniversary party for my pastor, and my son had to drive me home. I was so embarrassed. Everyone just thought that I had a bad headache! Thank God! Anyway, yes, I have pb'd before getting any fill! Karen -
Old Time Bandsters, I Need You On This One
kll724 replied to GLove's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I had my surgery 2 m1/2 years ago. I had it because even though I can loose the weight, (have lost hundreds of pounds over the years), I get bored with dieting and yoyo back up! That is why many of us have had the surgery. Good luck and best wishes for your decision. -
Happy birthday and congrats on your successful weightloss. I hope that you have many more birthdays and weightloss, too!

Well said and good advice B-52. Never try to overeat. It has bad experiences with it. Sometimes, satisfied is one or 2 bites. You usually get a notice from your body when yyou have ahd enough. A lot of people get hiccups or burp. Best wishes. Karen

My surgeon has never advised what to have before the fill. After a fill, mine surgeon says noting but clear liquids for 2 days, and then ful liquids for 2 days. I usually bring a drink to sip ont he way home as I live an hour away from the office. Best wishes for your 1st fill. As far as the fill, I agree with teh op, but it also, depends on how agressive your surgeon is. Karen

Has Anyone Started Having Any Back Pain? Possibly Kidney Pain?
kll724 replied to chrissylu's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Could be gall bladder. Mine felt like a stabbing pain that went from front to back! Good luck, call your surgeon if it continues. Karen -
That is so cool! I laugh at the added butt, I never had that problem. as a young girl, I had a fellow ask a friend if I had bought booty from Frederick's of Hollywood! Embarrassing for a young Catholic girl! Now, I am glad my butt is flat, HAHA!!!BUt, that is a great NSV you should be proud!

Do You Like The Taste Of Food More Or Less Since Your Surgery?
kll724 replied to Stephaniew's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
A nice cup of coffee is lovely, I say as I drink my 1st cup of the day! However, I tolerate most fruit by drinking a fruit smoothy in the morning for breakfast. Love fresh fruit, and here in Florida, we get it early in the year. My strawberry smoothies are to die for! -
I agree with you on this! My niece, who is a nirse, said she looked in to lapabnd, but decided that bypass was the best thing for her! I, on the other hand, did not want to worry about dumping, etc. There are "good, bad, and ugly" about any of the weigjht loss surgeies from waht I can see. Karen

He is discovering that some things he could eat at 5 cc he can't eat at 7 cc. He lost 9 lbs in 1 month, but surgeon is happy! He is happy too!

Finally Made Itto The Post Op Forum!

Welcome and congrats on the start of your journey! Best wishes. Karen -
No, my husband is so proud that he flaunts the fact that I lost 100 lbs and am attractive to him and other men! My husband gave up jealousy when I worked with mostly men and never gave him anything to be jealous of. I have been 120 to 255 and the ranges in the middle my married life. I think he is probably just real proud of your losses and wants men to know that you are with hiim! Be happy that you have a suppotive spouse who is proud of your accomplisments. Good luck, Karen

Should I Get Last Fill Removed?
kll724 replied to tracies's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Can'r say, but my surgeon wants us to stay on clear liquids fr 2 days and then full liquids for 2 days before returning to solids. Maybe you are swollen! -
Congrats on your weight losses, and happy birthday to you both!

Can Not Sleep On My Left Side. Can You?
kll724 replied to MOMIOF3CV's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I, almost, always have used and still use a pillow to sleep on my side. I don't really need to , but find mysef more comfortable that way. I have had days where overeating will cause pain. -
I am, also, a cheap date! As far as drinks goes, I can tolerate about a 1/2 glass of wine. Tried champagne on New Years Eve, once again, I was tipsy at 1 glass to salute the new year. My son, who has been banded for 8 months, went out to the bar for Xmas party and got so drunk that he passed out, but not before vomiting 2 x. Drink if you like, but be careful, it might(won't say will) hit you quickly!

I think that chnces ae pretty good. I had 2 slips, the 1st one, the band went back into place. The 2nd one, more serious than the 1st, I had to have surgery to reposition it. Good luck, Karen

Update: I May Be Allergic To The Band...
kll724 replied to Amanda61082's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Best wishes to you and all new banders! -
Well, I think that you probably need to see your surgeon, again. It sounds like you need an upper gi to iliminate gall bladder! It can be very excruiating pain. My daughter went to emergency 2x before she broke down and had removal of her gall bladder. It is said, that after loosing alot of weight, you gall bladder acts up. I don't know, I had mine removed in 2001. But, come to think of it, I had lost about 40 lbs then! Good luck, feel better soon. Karen

What Does An Ulcer Vs A Slip Feel Like?
kll724 replied to marfar7's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Wel, if we are voting, I vote slip! But none of us are doctors. Either call your surgeon's offcie or go see teh ER. But, don't play around with it. I had to have my Fluid all removed and then had to have my band revised due to a slip. (you can get liquids down). I was able to without trouble, but was up all night long retching. Don't wait! Good lcuk, Karen PS:it sounds like you have probably waited long enough, already! -
Surgeon Doesn't Reccomend Lap Band Surgery...what Do I Do Now?
kll724 replied to nelle1230's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I agree with everyone, else. I lost all my excess weight and had surgery at 60 year old. My son, who is 37, lost 80% of his weigth, so far. He was banded in august 2011. Your weightloss is only as good as your committment! Our surgeon is not aggressive, but very knowlegdeable. You need to shop around. Unfortuantely, it might mean going out of network! Good luck, Karen
