Brand New To The Group - Lap Band Has Slipped
kll724 replied to peapod001's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I am sorry for their attitudes. You don't sound like a failure to me! You are probably right in thinking that labor caused your slip. I had aslip, and had a revision done withut replacement. Best wishes to you, and congrats on the birth of your baby. Karen -
thanks, I thought it might be good for those people still on the clear liquid diet. I was always trying differnt ways to get protein in, but if it tastes nasty, it would not be a good choice. Thanks.

You said exactly what I was going to say! I don't have the slider food problem, becasue I don't eat/drink. But it hits you real quick and as this person said empty calories. -
Hurray for you all! Nice NSV's. They are the best! My son started at tight 46 and triple x shirts, he is now in L shirts and 36/38 pants. He is very proud and looking good in Spain where he took his wife this week. Best wishes to all you guys and gals having to shop!!! Karen

kll724 replied to pdphillips's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Best wishes to you, and welcome to the board. There are a lot of very wise folks on here. Alex has set up a great forum for us lapbanders to talk and get advise from others. Looks like it is one week from today! Best wishes! Karen -
No advice, just wanted to say you have my best wishes. I, too, had bleeding problems and fibrous tumor. I had a hysterectomy at 32 and found out later that my husband really had wanted a 3rd child, too. I am with elcee, hurry and have your 3rd and then have the problem taken care of. Good luck, Karen

I know where you are coming from Cheri. But you see, that is where I was before loosing 100 lbs. I was the typical "grandma". When I cut my hair, they cried! "Grandma's have buns". Well that was over 2 years ago.. They still love me, and I love me more! My baby is 37! I just celebrated my 42 year anniversary and could not be happier! I am with Hopetolose if it fits flaunt it!! My husband is a pusher, that is he likes to see me looking good too! He takes me shopping. He will tell me, "Oh that makes you look frumpy!" or "that looks good!" Sometimes he ikes things too short, tho' Enjoy!!Karen

Need Advice From Banded Vets!!
kll724 replied to Myshel65's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am going to try not to be rude! Follow your surgeon's rules. Just because you can eat it, doesn't mean you should eat that stuff. The 1st few weeks, after surgey, are for healing, that is why you have the "diet" that the offfice gives you. You could be causing problems to yourself for later. Try to go back to your liquids or softs. Call you surgeon's office for help. Good luck, and congrats on your "new" life. Karen PS: after healing, we all go through "bandster hell" before getting our 1st fill! -
My Nsv So Far :)
kll724 replied to DELETE THIS ACCOUNT!'s topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
Congrats to all your NSV's. I remebr when I was actively loosing, I couldn't figure out why I had trbl reaching the gas peddle in the car. Felt like someone had moved it too far back! I, also, enjoyed the 1st time I did not recognize myself in the overhead mirrors when shopping. -
I agree, you sound a little too tight, maybe get .5 cc removed, bet it makes a lot of difference. Goodluck. Karen

Please Help Me!!!!! I'm Dying Over Here....
kll724 replied to LaDolceVita78's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I knjow nothing abot erosion, but I had slippage. I would never see only a GI dr and not my surgeon as he does both. If you haven't seen your surgeon for a floroscope to see if you have a slip, do so ASAP. Best wishes to you! Karen. -
5'4 Whats Your Goal Weight?
kll724 replied to JanellesMommy8210's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am, also. 5'4". My intial goal from my surgeon was 150, but I like 140-145. I am size 8-10. Do not try for too lofty a goal, at 1st. You don't want to discourage yourself. Try mini-goals, as you hit them, you will fel good about your weightloss. Good luck to you and all of us. Karen -
Psh. Formal Introductions
kll724 replied to Calamity Jane's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Dani, I know you are uncomfortable, but for healing purposes you should get up and walk around a bit. Your legs, also, need the circulation to avoid clots. Take care and good luck. Karen. -
Those Of You That Have Been Banded A While...
kll724 replied to spoiltmom's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Goal wieght has a lot to do with age too! I would be way to skinny, if I got to 118 of my early 20's. At 145-150 I look and feel great and am in a 8. Any thinner, I look sickly and my face starts drooping. My surgeon's goal for me was 150. I am 63 years old. Karen
